Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
NA Bar Finder (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at nabarfinder.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Email Addresses
If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. Email addresses are stored in our database hosted by Supabase. We use this address only to send newsletter content related to NA Bar Finder. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email or by emailing privacy@nabarfinder.com.
Venue Submissions
When you submit a venue, we collect the information you provide in the submission form (such as venue name, location, menu details, and any optional contact information you include). Submissions are stored in our database hosted by Supabase and may be reviewed, edited, or published as part of the directory. Do not include personal information in submissions that you do not want to be associated with the listing. If you provide your email with a submission, we store it alongside the submission and use it only to acknowledge your tip and follow up with any questions.
Analytics
We use three analytics services to understand how the site is used. Cloudflare Web Analytics is a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal information; it reports high-level metrics such as page views and referrers.
If you are visiting from the UK, the EU or the EEA, the two cookie-setting services below are not loaded at all. Those regions require your consent before non-essential cookies are set, and rather than ask you to dismiss a banner we simply do not run them: no Google Analytics, no Microsoft Clarity, no cookies from either, and no session recording. To do this your browser makes one request to this site that returns the country your network connection appears to be in, as reported by our hosting provider. We do not store it, log it, or associate it with you. Cloudflare Web Analytics still runs, because it sets no cookies. If that country check fails for any reason, we treat it as restricted and load nothing.
We also use Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type, and the pages you view, and it shares this information with Google, which may use it in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
Finally, we use Microsoft Clarity, which works differently from the other two and so is worth describing plainly. Clarity records how people interact with pages — mouse movement, clicks, taps and scrolling — and replays those interactions so we can see where a page is confusing or broken, alongside aggregate heatmaps. It sets cookies and shares this information with Microsoft, which may use it in accordance with its own privacy policy. Every form on this site that asks for personal information — the newsletter signup, the venue submission form, and the venue claim and edit forms — is explicitly marked so that Clarity masks it, so what you type into those fields never appears in a recording. We use Clarity to find and fix broken pages, never to identify individual visitors. You can opt out by blocking analytics cookies in your browser, or with any tracker-blocking extension.
Maps
Venue maps on this site are rendered using Mapbox. When a map loads in your browser, your browser communicates directly with Mapbox to fetch map tiles and related assets. That communication is governed by Mapbox's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which you can review on the Mapbox website.
Location and Brand Store Locators
Some pages offer a live “find a brand near you” feature. If you choose to share your device location, or if you type a ZIP code or city, that location is sent from your browser directly to third-party services in order to return nearby results: the brands' own store-locator providers (Storepoint, Stockist, and Aisle/gotoaisle) and the OpenStreetMap Nominatim geocoding service. These third parties receive your IP address and the location you searched, and handle it under their own privacy policies. We do not store your location on our servers, and results returned by these locators are brand-listed and not independently verified by us.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not run third-party advertising or display ads.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
- We do not use your personal information for behavioral advertising.
Data Storage and Security
Information you provide (newsletter sign-ups and venue submissions) is processed and stored using third-party providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (database), Cloudflare (website and application hosting), and Resend (delivering confirmation and notification emails). Each processes data under its own security and privacy terms. We take reasonable steps to protect information in our control, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
- Unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. We honor all unsubscribe requests immediately. You can also visit the unsubscribe page directly if you have already opted out.
- Data deletion. You can request complete deletion of your data by clicking the “Delete all my data” link in any of our marketing emails, or by emailing privacy@nabarfinder.com. We will delete your data within 48 hours of a verifiable request.
- Data we store. Your email address, an optional first name you may have provided, an optional city preference, and your subscription status (confirmed, unconfirmed, or unsubscribed). We do not sell, share, or trade your information with anyone.
- Data retention. Unsubscribed users’ data is retained for 90 days as a suppression record so we never accidentally re-email you, then permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion at any time using the link above.
Your Privacy Rights (California & EU/UK)
Depending on where you live — for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EU/UK under the GDPR — you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell or share your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@nabarfinder.com, and we will respond to verifiable requests as described above.
Your Choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. You can also request that we delete your email address or a submission you made by emailing privacy@nabarfinder.com. We will honor verifiable requests within a reasonable time frame.
Children
NA Bar Finder is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will delete the information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected by updating that date.
