Châm Pang Lanes combines three things that do not usually appear together: a bowling alley, a bar with a champagne-forward list, and a kitchen doing Vietnamese-influenced food. It is on Harney Street in downtown Omaha and it is one of the busier rooms in the city.
It appears in this guide for a reason that has more to do with format than with any drink. The hardest part of an evening out without alcohol is rarely the first hour; it is the third, when the room's entire tempo is set by other people's rounds and there is nothing to do but drink and wait. An activity venue removes that completely. Bowling sets the pace instead, everyone has something to do with their hands, and nobody is counting whose glass is where.
That is why this directory lists activity venues alongside cocktail bars, and it is why Shuffles in Tulsa, The Archives in Burlington and this room all earn places. For readers in early sobriety in particular, a night with a structure is a substantially easier proposition than a night in a bar.
The alcohol-free offer here is documented by Omaha's curated local drinks guide as part of the city's spirit-free options, and this entry is graded three accordingly: the offer is real and third-party attested, but there is no published list, no named build that could be verified, and so nothing further is claimed. Ask at the bar.
Hours are 4pm to midnight Monday through Thursday, 4pm to 2am on Friday, noon to 2am on Saturday and noon to 10pm on Sunday. Lanes get booked at weekends, so reserve if bowling is the plan rather than the excuse.
