The Kava Konnection

Every city in this directory is judged partly on whether a person who does not drink can be out at midnight. Greenville can, and this is where. One practical note on geography. Wade Hampton is not walkable from South Main, so this is a drive or a short rideshare from the downtown cluster rather than a stop on the way. Treat it as the destination — which, given it is the only room in the metro with no alcohol in it at all, it deserves to be.

One further note on what Greenville is missing, because a guide should say so. Herban Spirits has been announced as the city's first non-alcoholic taproom and bottle shop and is not open yet; it will be a significant addition when it is, and it is deliberately excluded here rather than listed early. Urban Wren, which still appears in current mocktail round-ups of the city, is permanently closed. Until Herban opens, The Kava Konnection is the entire alcohol-free category in this metro, which is why its seven-day, late-night schedule carries so much weight in this guide.
