Around-the-world-themed cocktail bar in SoMa from the Pacific Cocktail Haven team, with a small zero-proof cocktail section built on Lyre's spirits.

Starlite is the 21st-floor bar of the Beacon Grand hotel on Powell Street in Union Square, a room that has served cocktails since 1928 and reopened after the hotel's restoration with drinks by Scott Baird and a bites menu by chef Johnny Spero. Its non-alcoholic programme is a printed menu section titled The Free Spirited, holding four zero-proof cocktails at $16 named for the seasons: Spring, built on Navarro verjus with lemon, honey, chamomile and club soda; Summer, with passion fruit, lime, vanilla, coconut water, butterfly pea flower and saline; Autumn, with jasmine tea, pomegranate, ginger five-spice syrup, white miso and lemon; and Winter, with carrot juice, toasted almond milk, cinnamon, star anise and Meyer lemon. NON 1 zero-proof wine and Athletic Brewing's Upside Dawn complete the section.

The Barnes is the restaurant and bar on Powell Street inside the Union Square hotel of the same name, open daily from 5pm to 11pm. Its beverage menu carries a named non-alcoholic section of three built cocktails priced at $16, the same as most of the alcoholic list: a Non-Alcoholic Negroni made with Ritual zero-proof gin, Lyre's Italian Spritz and orange; Your NA Poolside, combining Lyre's Italian Spritz with Ritual agave blanco, lime and almond syrup; and Never Been Kissed, built on Seedlip Spice with lime, hibiscus, ginger beer and mint. Athletic Brewing's Run Wild IPA is stocked at $8 alongside a non-alcoholic Asahi. The kitchen runs shareable plates, a superfood salad, burgers and steak frites.

Violet's is a neighbourhood bar and restaurant at Clement and 24th Avenue in the Outer Richmond, running dinner nightly and weekend brunch under new ownership. Its zero-proof drinks are grouped under their own menu heading, The Pure Pour, and priced at $14 against $14 to $15 for the alcoholic cocktails. Five are listed: House Finch, built on Giffard aperitif and Mionetto's non-alcoholic aperitivo with passion fruit, vanilla, lime and tonic; Paradiso Beach, with Giffard orgeat and coconut, grapefruit, lemon and cinnamon; a Venetian Spritz of Mionetto aperitivo, Giffard aperitif and club soda; a Phony Negroni; and a Falso Amaro. Athletic Brewing's IPA is stocked at $8. The kitchen runs cioppino, fried chicken and other Richmond comfort cooking.

Anina is a tropical, plant-filled bar on Hayes Street in Hayes Valley, trading to 1am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and known for a rum-heavy, botanical cocktail list and shareable punchbowls. Its alcohol-free drinks sit under a menu heading simply marked zero proof, and they are priced from $7 to $13 against $15 to $17 for the full-proof cocktails. The section lists Six of Cups, built on Floreale L'Aperitivo with lemon, honey and cucumber tonic; a Pathfinder Spritz made with the fermented and distilled hemp spirit; St. Agrestis's Phony Negroni; and a Juice Shop pineapple mint tonic of sparkling spring water, cold-pressed pineapple and pear juice, mint, blue spirulina and eleuthero. Athletic Run Wild, Best Day Kölsch and Leitz Eins Zwei Zero sparkling rosé fill out the list.
