Anina sits at 482 Hayes Street in the middle of Hayes Valley's restaurant row, and is described by The Infatuation as feeling like a tropical beer garden with a great deal of rum and botanical-leaning drinks. The room runs long hours for the neighbourhood — 3pm to 1am on Thursday and from early afternoon to 1am on Friday and Saturday — and the cocktail list is built around punchbowls, tiki-adjacent builds and a daytime happy hour that discounts beer, wine, house cocktails and, notably, the zero-proof drinks by a dollar.

The alcohol-free section is printed on the main menu under the heading zero proof, and it is one of the better-constructed lists in the city because it covers several different drinking occasions rather than offering three variations on fruit juice. Six of Cups is the aperitivo option, built on Floreale L'Aperitivo with lemon, honey and cucumber tonic at $11. The Pathfinder Spritz, also $11, is served long over ice and uses the Seattle-made fermented and distilled hemp spirit, whose own botanical bill runs to wormwood, angelica root, ginger, sage, saffron, orange peel and douglas-fir. St. Agrestis's Phony Negroni, canned in Brooklyn, is $10 and covers anyone who wants the bitter-orange profile without a build. The Juice Shop pineapple mint tonic at $7 is the lightest option: sparkling spring water with cold-pressed pineapple and pear juice, mint, blue spirulina and the adaptogen eleuthero, made locally in San Francisco. Beyond the cocktails the bar keeps Athletic Brewing's Run Wild IPA and Best Day Brewing's Kölsch, both under half a per cent, and Leitz Eins Zwei Zero sparkling rosé by the glass, so beer and wine drinkers are served as well as cocktail drinkers. The daytime happy hour takes a dollar off the zero-proof drinks along with the beer, wine and house cocktails, which is a small detail that says the bar counts them as part of the same list rather than as a separate accommodation. The bar closes early on Sundays at 7pm but runs to 1am from Thursday through Saturday, making it one of the later alcohol-free options in Hayes Valley.
