Shorty's GoodTimes Bar — until recently Shorty's Pins x Pints — is a 10,000 square foot "retro-tainment" bar at 353 North Shore Drive with a 5,000 square foot patio, opened in February 2022 in the old Tilted Kilt space across from Burgatory. The draw is the games: eight duckpin bowling lanes ($15 per person per hour before 4pm, $20 after), pinball, vintage arcade machines, shuffleboard, bocce, foosball, cornhole, bubble hockey and camp-style fire pits outside. NOTE: the taco menu it opened with is gone from this location — North Shore now serves American pub food (wings $14.50, smash burgers from $14, sammies from $14.50), and tacos survive only as a Tuesday special at the separate Waterfront site. Its non-alcoholic drinks are built on Seedlip and printed on the menu: the Fauxjito ($8), Espressno ($8), Don't Call Me Shirley ($7), the Mock-Arita in classic or strawberry ($6) and JayNO & Ginger ($6). All ages are welcome before 9pm; after 9pm on Friday and Saturday it is 21-and-over.

Harold's Haunt is a queer-owned, witch-themed "they bar" on Grant Avenue in Millvale, opened in October 2022 by the people behind the attached Maude's Paperwing Gallery, and it is intentional about sober inclusion — its own site says there are always mocktails on the menu for its sober friends, served as house-made "Fauxtions" alongside the full bar. Food is vegan-friendly, supplied by Lemon Tree PGH, and orders are marked at the table with tarot cards; past dishes have included the Hobbit Pizza and Calcifer's Coals. There is a patio out back for when the front gets loud. Note that the bar does not publish a current drinks list online, so the Fauxtions rotate and are best asked about in person; the ones documented in press have been fruit-and-soda builds rather than non-alcoholic-spirit cocktails. The venue is candid that it is not fully accessible: there is a step at both the front and back doors, a steep slope in the back hallway, and small bathrooms without handles.

Con Alma is a live-jazz supper club at 613 Penn Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District, serving a Latin-inspired menu alongside a genuine zero-proof programme. It began on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside in 2019 and opened Downtown in 2021; the Shadyside original has since closed, so this is now the only location — worth knowing, because much of the press about Con Alma describes the other room. Esquire named it one of the 27 best bars in America in 2021. It is owned by executive chef Josh Ross, music curator John Shannon and beverage director Aimee Marshall. The non-alcoholic section carries two built cocktails — an N/A Painkiller with coconut cream, orange, pineapple and nutmeg, and an N/A Mojito ($10) — plus Eins-Zwei-Zero 0% sparkling Riesling ($12), a Bravas non-alcoholic golden ale ($6) and a rotating NA beer. Unusually, it also sells zero-proof spirits by the pour at $8–$9: Free Spirits gin, bourbon and tequila, Dr Zero Zero AmarNo and Pentire Coastal Spritz. Budget for a per-person music charge during live sets ($10 Thursday and Sunday, $15 Friday and Saturday, $5 in the bar).

Bar Botanico is a plant-filled Lawrenceville cocktail bar with a strong zero-proof lineup built on NA spirits. Signature mocktails include the Cut Above Mezcal Sour (Cut Above NA mezcal, coconut water, lapsang, jalapeno, lemon, vegan foamer), a Seedlip Highball and a Seedlip Espresso Martini, plus Red Ribbon seltzer and house-made lemonade and citrus soda. It is frequently cited among the city's best mocktail bars.

Lawrence Hall is a food hall at 4609 Butler Street in Lawrenceville, in an 1890s building that has been a theatre and a car dealership, opened in April 2024 by Brett Minarik, Phoebe Fraser and Adam Harvey after five years of renovation. It holds four independent restaurants, a Leona's ice cream shop, seating for 225 and a mezzanine, anchored by its bar Dear James — named for Captain James Lawrence, whose dying order gave the neighbourhood its name. The bar did something almost no venue does: it hired a dedicated non-alcoholic beverage consultant, Katrina Tomacchio, who advised Boston-area bars on zero-proof drinks before moving here, gave up alcohol herself, and co-owns two of the hall's own tenant restaurants. The programme uses hyper-local sourcing, house-made syrups and original recipes rather than bought-in mixers. One documented example is the Capture of The Chesapeake, a campfire espresso martini of cold brew, Lyre's coffee and white cane spirits, graham cracker syrup and non-alcoholic aromatic bitters with a torched marshmallow. The list rotates by season and is published only through the bar's ordering system.

The Commoner is the American-tavern restaurant and bar inside the Kimpton Hotel Monaco at 620 William Penn Place in Downtown Pittsburgh, and the hotel's own site confirms it as the operating restaurant there. Its zero-proof programme is led by Kyle Turner, a sober bartender, who designs a rotating line-up of non-alcoholic cocktails built on the serious bottles — Seedlip, Pathfinder, Lyre's and Trejo's. Drinks including a Pandan Express, The Wandering Path, a Machete and an N/Aperol Spritz have appeared on the list. IMPORTANT PRACTICAL NOTE: The Commoner publishes its food menus online but not its cocktail list, so the current zero-proof line-up cannot be checked in advance and we could not confirm which of those drinks is pouring today — the programme is real and well regarded, but the specific drink is a question for the bar. The bar runs later than the kitchen, to 11pm most nights and midnight on Friday and Saturday, with a seasonal biergarten. Do not confuse it with The Commoner Corner, a small separate to-go concept at the same building that has closed. Parties of eight or more carry an automatic 20% gratuity.

It has to be somewhere you can sit, so bottle shops are out. And its hours have to run past midnight on at least one night, which is what makes this a nightlife page rather than a second copy of the sober bars list: at that cut a restaurant with a good zero-proof menu drops out, and the bars, lounges, kava bars and late coffeehouses remain.
“No alcohol served” is written on a card only when the venue's own verified description says so — never inferred from a rating or a name. Everything else here is a bar with a real non-alcoholic program, and it is labelled as a bar. Hours are the venue's live listing, re-synced weekly; the drinks on each venue page were read off its current menu and carry the date we last confirmed them.

Hours come from each venue's live business listing and are re-synced weekly — but late hours are the first thing a bar trims, so check the day before a special trip.

A named drink built on a real non-alcoholic spirit (Seedlip, Lyre's, Ritual, Pathfinder and the like) is a different thing from a soda with fruit in it, and it is priced and served like a cocktail. If the list has changed since we checked, ask what the bar is making that week rather than for "a mocktail".
It is an honest one. The venues marked "no alcohol served" are rooms where nobody at the next table is drinking either, and for many people that is the only kind of night out that works. The licensed venues are bars — good ones for a non-drinker, but bars — and the page says so plainly rather than blurring the two. Choose by the label, not the name.
