1220 S. 8th St., St. Louis, MO 63104
Kevin Lemp opened 4 Hands Brewing Co. in 2011 in LaSalle Park, the small historic neighborhood wedged between downtown St. Louis and Soulard. Fifteen years on it is one of the city's defining craft breweries, home to the 1220 Spirits distillery and Withered Oak whiskey line, with satellite taprooms in Chesterfield, Kirkwood and Lambert Airport. Its flagship City Wide pale ale doubles as a civic project: Sauce Magazine reported in 2026 that it has grown into the top-selling craft beer in St. Louis and the No. 1 pale ale in Missouri, with $1 from every case sold donated to local nonprofit partners — close to half a million dollars over the past decade.
The non-alcoholic program is unusually deep for a regional brewery. The current beer list includes three house NA beers, all under 0.5% ABV: NA City Wide Hoppy Pale, a showcase of Centennial, Citra and Simcoe hops with citrus, melon and tropical fruit notes and a dry, crisp finish; NA Full Life Lager, cheekily described as a 'beer flavored beer'; and NA Incarnation, a Mosaic-hopped IPA pouring amber with pineapple, passion fruit and candied citrus. At the LaSalle Park tasting room, Incarnation NA and Athletic Brewing Lite share the menu with a dedicated mocktail list — Hibiscus Bliss, Lavender Haze, Pioneer Punch and a Whiskey-less Sour, all mixed with zero-proof spirits — plus Excel sodas, so non-drinkers get real choices rather than a single token can.
4 Hands has become a fixture of St. Louis' sober-curious coverage: Feast Magazine's 2025 feature 'Brewing change' put the brewery at the center of the city's NA shift, with Lemp telling the magazine, 'Experimentation and innovation are important to us … and when we opened the brewery almost 14 years ago, we never thought we'd be producing NA beers or CBD seltzers.' The tasting room itself is a destination — Hi-Pointe Drive-In's kitchen on the main floor, a family-friendly upstairs arcade with Skee-Ball and classic games, and long hours seven days a week, opening at 11am daily. Smaller groups are seated first-come, first-served, while groups of 30 or more can book private space through the brewery's events form.
