Beer Culture is a craft beer bar and bottle shop on a quiet residential block of West 45th Street in Hell's Kitchen, steps from the Theater District and Times Square. Open since 2013 and run by owner Matt Gebhard, it pairs 14 rotating drafts with a 500-plus-strong bottle selection, plus whiskey, ciders and pub grub, in a cozy room known for its fireplace, old brewery signs, a simple pine bar and Gebhard's grandfather's 1952 Kelvinator "grandpa fridge" stocked with old-school regional lagers. For non-drinkers, the bottle shop carries a selection of non-alcoholic and gluten-free beers alongside the regular lineup, though specific NA brands rotate and are best confirmed at the bar. Its late hours and pre/post-show location make it a reliable Midtown stop for a low-key pint, alcohol-free or otherwise.
“This cozy bar and shop ain't your typical Hell's Kitchen after-work joint. For one, it looks like a place your grandpa would have loved—fireplace, old brewery signs, simple pine bar and owner Matt Gebhard's gramps's 1952 Kelvinator refrigerator.”— Time Out New YorkTime Out New York →
