306 Smith Street, Collingwood VIC 3066

Beermash opened on Smith Street in Collingwood in 2014 and has become one of Melbourne's most respected craft-beer destinations, part bottle shop and part licensed bar. Behind a yellow-tiled counter sit more than 20 rotating taps pouring craft beer alongside cider, kombucha, cold-brew coffee and a couple of wines, with over 200 bottles and cans filling the fridges and shelves. It is co-owned by Kieran Hennessy, also of Rockwell & Sons, and Shayne Dixon, co-owner of Bonny in Fitzroy, who curate the list with their staff. Customers can fill reusable growlers or half-sized squealers to take home, or drink in at high tables inside.

The non-alcoholic offering here is a real anchor rather than an afterthought. Beermash keeps a dedicated non-alcoholic collection running to roughly 50 products, spanning Australian and international zero-and-low brewers including Heaps Normal (Quiet XPA, Another Lager, Third IPA), Hop Nation (Mind Ya Head XPA, Passing Storm West Coast IPA), Garage Project's Tiny line, Molly Rose, Range, Bridge Road Brewery, One Drop, Stomping Ground, Konpira Maru and Weihenstephaner. It is a genuine destination for someone who wants a serious alcohol-free craft beer, not just a token can.

In February 2026, Beermash was one of a select group of Melbourne and Sydney venues chosen to launch Heaps Normal's Original Draught, described by the brewery as a crisp contemporary Aussie lager built with low-bitterness noble hops and toasted malt, and formulated specifically to survive tap service. Beermash poured it from day one and hosted a complimentary sampling on the launch night, making it one of the first places in the city where you could order a non-alcoholic beer straight off the tap.

The room is relaxed and walk-in only, with stools and high tables inside and benches lining the footpath out front. Card games like Cards Against Humanity and Exploding Kittens are on hand, and the venue is LGBTIQA+ friendly with non-gendered bathrooms. No booking is needed.
