Blue Atlas occupies a corner of Fulton, the neighbourhood east of downtown along the river that has spent the last few years turning into somewhere people travel to eat. It runs as both a restaurant and a market, which gives the room an all-day character rather than a service-driven one.
Two details on the drinks list do the work here. The first is the house shrub. A shrub is a drinking vinegar: fruit, sugar and vinegar left to macerate for days, then lengthened with soda. It matters because the fundamental problem with non-alcoholic drinks is structural — take the alcohol out and what remains tends to be flat and sweet, because alcohol is what normally supplies bite, warmth and length. Vinegar restores the acidity and the finish. It also takes days of prep and occupies fridge space, which means no kitchen makes one casually. It is one of the most reliable signals that a restaurant takes the alcohol-free side of its list seriously.
The second is the non-alcoholic wine, which the market side makes practical to stock. Dealcoholised wine is the hardest category to do well and the one most often missing, so having a few options genuinely changes what a non-drinking guest can do over a long dinner — it is the difference between drinking alongside the table and drinking around it.
The schedule needs planning: closed Monday and Tuesday, then 9am to 9pm Wednesday through Saturday, with Sunday split around a 2:30pm close and a 5pm reopening for dinner. Fulton is a short drive from the centre rather than a walk, so this is a destination visit — but the all-day hours and the market mean it rewards one. The market side also means you can leave with something for later, which no other venue on this list offers.
