80/20 Burger Bar sits on West 21st Street in Chelsea, the Norfolk neighbourhood that has quietly become the region's best few blocks for anyone not drinking — Ceremony's bottle shop and Only You are both within walking distance. The name refers to the beef ratio, and the room is what it sounds like: burgers, a bar, late hours.

Its alcohol-free offering is simple and worth respecting for that. It stocks non-alcoholic wine and non-alcoholic beer. No composed cocktails, no named list — just the two categories most bars fail to carry.

The wine is the notable half. Dealcoholised wine is the least-stocked category in the whole non-alcoholic market: it costs more than beer, takes fridge space, moves slowly, and most venues decide it is not worth the shelf. That means a non-drinker at dinner is routinely offered beer or a sweet mocktail when what the food actually calls for is wine. A burger bar that carries it has made a small, unglamorous decision in favour of a customer most places ignore.

The hours are the other reason it belongs here. It opens at 5pm and runs to midnight through the week and 2am on Friday and Saturday — later than anything else on this list.
