Lakefront Brewery

Lakefront Brewery has been one of Milwaukee's defining craft breweries since Russ and Jim Klisch founded it in 1987, and its riverside taproom and beer hall at 1872 N. Commerce St. is a longtime Brew City fixture. Its flagship, the Riverwest Stein amber lager, has been a Wisconsin best-seller for more than three decades — and it is that same beer that anchors Lakefront's non-alcoholic push.

Riverwest Stein NA is a sub-0.5% ABV amber lager built to echo the original, and it earned the 2024 Grand Champion title for Non-Alcoholic Beer at the U.S. Beer Tasting Championship along with a 93 rating from The Beer Connoisseur. It is joined by two more house NA beers — Eastside Dark NA, a Bavarian-inspired dark lager, and Extended Play NA, a citrus-forward non-alcoholic IPA — giving the taproom a genuine standing alcohol-free lineup rather than a single token option. All three are brewed to under 0.5% ABV and are available year-round.

Lakefront remains a full working brewery and beer hall, so its non-alcoholic cans share the menu with a broad range of alcoholic beers; this is a hybrid rather than a dedicated sober venue.
