Lutèce is a snug, Michelin Guide-listed French neo-bistro in Georgetown, opened in February 2020 in the former Café Bonaparte space at 1522 Wisconsin Ave NW. It is led by chef-partner Matt Conroy (a Food & Wine Best New Chef who earned a Michelin star at Brooklyn's Oxomoco) and pastry chef Isabel Coss, as part of The Popal Group, and serves modern, seasonal French cooking alongside natural wines. The restaurant has earned wide recognition, including a place on the New York Times list of the most exciting restaurants in America and a top ranking in Washingtonian's 100 Very Best Restaurants. Its non-alcoholic program is notably extensive: bar manager Megan Coyle curates a wide selection of zero-proof cocktails available at the bar or as part of the tasting experience, plus a $55 "Sans Alcool" pairing built around non-alcoholic wines such as Jörg Geiger Mirabellengold sparkling and Oddbird Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay. Confirmed named NA cocktails include the Defanged Chupacabra (agave syrup, grapefruit, and picante spices) and the Indulgence in Moderation (non-alcoholic vermouth, honey, and almond). The setting is an intimate, casual room that aims to deliver refined French dining without the stuffiness.
