Sana'a Cafe took 27 Drumm Street, near the Embarcadero, in 2026, one of several former Starbucks storefronts the growing chain has moved into as it expanded across San Francisco. The Bay Area Telegraph covered the opening in July 2026 and framed the cafe's trading hours as its defining feature: open daily from 7am to 10pm, a fifteen-hour stretch that the paper described as making it a genuine evening destination rather than another place to grab a rushed morning latte. That framing matters for a Financial District that historically offers office workers a choice between leaving early and going to a bar; Sana'a serves no alcohol at all.

The menu pairs the orders any American cafe would carry with the Yemeni preparations the group is built around. Qishr is the most distinctive: a hot drink brewed from the dried husks of coffee cherries rather than the roasted bean, spiced and served in small cups. Adeni chai, black tea cooked down with cream and spice, is the other traditional staple, alongside Arabic light roast coffee and mofawar. The espresso side of the board runs pistachio, rose and Yemeni lattes, and the counter holds honeycomb pastries, baklava, milk cakes and savoury turnovers. The Bay Area Telegraph noted that Yemeni coffeehouses nationally have adopted late hours as a defining characteristic, with some staying open until 3am, later than many bars in San Francisco. Sana'a's Drumm Street room does not go that far, but a 10pm close every night of the week, in a neighbourhood that empties at six, gives the city another alcohol-free place to sit with friends after dinner or work late over something spiced and sweet. The group has taken several former Starbucks units across the city as it has expanded, including sites on Market Street and Townsend Street, and the Drumm Street shop is the one closest to the Ferry Building and the Embarcadero waterfront, which makes it the most useful of them for anyone arriving by ferry or by Muni after work.
