3rd Street Beverage

3rd Street Beverage is, on the face of it, an ordinary liquor store on Bend's 3rd Street commercial strip. Visit Bend's own zero-proof guide calls it a hidden gem, and the reason is the size and seriousness of its non-alcoholic section — a range covering alcohol-removed spirits, non-alcoholic wines and a wide NA beer selection, in a shop where you would expect a single shelf of alcohol-free lager next to the mixers.

That combination is genuinely useful in a way a supermarket aisle is not. Alcohol-removed spirits are the hardest category to buy locally: they are expensive, the quality varies enormously between producers, and most people never get to try one before committing to a bottle. Having a range of them in one room, alongside non-alcoholic wines and enough NA beer to compare styles, makes this the place in Bend to experiment — to work out whether you actually like a hemp-derived botanical spirit or prefer a dealcoholised gin, before building a home bar around the answer.

For visitors, it doubles as the practical stop for a trip. Bend runs on the cooler-in-the-back model — river floats, trailheads, camp evenings — and this is where you fill it if you are not drinking.
