High Praise is the rooftop bar at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk, and its menu has a Zero Proof Cocktails section — Mediodia, Autumn in Paradise and Currently Vibing, each made with Ritual Zero Proof spirit — plus Heineken 0.0 and Athletic Run Wild IPA in cans. It is a weekend-only room, opening Friday evening and running through Sunday afternoon, which makes it a specific rather than a general recommendation. But it adds a second downtown rooftop with something properly made for a non-drinker, and given how many visitors to San Antonio stay within a few blocks of here, that redundancy is genuinely useful. Between this and The Moon's Daughters at the Thompson, a non-drinker downtown has an actual choice of rooftops rather than one option to hope is open.

Idle Beer Hall & Brewery on Brooklyn Avenue is a working brewery that also keeps four named mocktails on its list — a Southside, a Spanish gin and tonic, a beachside fizz and a French twist. A brewery bothering to build proper cocktails for people who are not drinking beer is genuinely unusual, and the choices are telling: a Southside and a Spanish G&T are both dry, herbal, bitter-leaning drinks rather than sweet ones. It also runs late, to midnight midweek and 2am on Friday and Saturday, which makes it a workable end to an evening. It sits on Brooklyn Avenue near the Pearl, next door to Tony's Siesta, which keeps similarly late hours.
- Athletic Golden Ale

1Watson is the rooftop bar at the AC Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk on Soledad Street, and its named non-alcoholic drinks are the Pina Breezy and the Spicy Pal No Ma — the latter a zero-proof play on a Paloma, which is the right instinct in Texas, where grapefruit and salt are already the local drinking grammar. It runs late for a hotel rooftop, to midnight midweek and 1am at weekends, and adds a third downtown rooftop option for anyone not drinking, in a district where visitors substantially outnumber locals. Weekend brunch service from 10:30am extends the window further, and it is a few blocks from both other rooftops in this guide.
- Heineken 0.0

How we know a San Antonio bar has NA beer
Three kinds of evidence put a venue on this page, and each card says which. The strongest is a menu we've read: the exact beers, the price where the menu prints one, and the date we confirmed it. Next are breweries — a brewery is in this directory because it pours non-alcoholic beer, often its own. Last are venues whose own menu or copy names a specific NA brand they carry. Nothing here is inferred from a review or a vague “great NA selection”.
“Non-alcoholic” is a legal band, not a promise of zero: under 0.5% ABV in the US, with “alcohol-free” reserved for 0.0%. The big lagers (Heineken 0.0, Guinness 0.0) are labeled 0.0%; most craft NA beers sit somewhere under 0.5%. We name the brand wherever the venue does so you can check the label that matters to you.
Draft NA beer is spreading but still uncommon, so we never assume it. A pour is marked “on draft” only when the venue's menu says tap or draft; everything else should be read as cans or bottles.
Frequently asked about non-alcoholic beer in San Antonio
We've verified 3 places in San Antonio with non-alcoholic beer: High Praise Rooftop Bar, Idle Beer Hall & Brewery, 1Watson. 3 list it on a menu we've read line by line; the rest are breweries, or venues that name a specific NA beer brand they carry. Every listing shows when we last checked.
Usually not quite. In the US, beer labeled "non-alcoholic" must be under 0.5% ABV — a trace level also found in some ripe fruit and kombucha — while "alcohol-free" means 0.0%. Most craft NA beers (Athletic, Best Day, Untitled Art) sit between 0.0% and 0.5%; Heineken 0.0 and Guinness 0.0 are labeled 0.0%. Rules differ abroad: in the UK "alcohol-free" is 0.05% or under and "de-alcoholised" up to 0.5%. If you avoid alcohol entirely, look for a 0.0% label — we name the brand wherever the venue does, so you can check.
Draft NA beer is still the exception: most bars serve it in cans or bottles, and that is what to expect. We flag "on draft" only when a venue's own menu says tap or draft — none of the current San Antonio listings has a menu-confirmed draft pour yet. If a listing doesn't say draft, assume packaged.
On the San Antonio menus and listings we've verified, the most-carried brands are Heineken 0.0 (2 venues), Athletic Brewing (1 venue). Each brand on this page links to everywhere else it is poured.
