Chattanooga Culture began in 2022 as a fermentation business rather than a bar, and that origin is the reason the drinks are worth a trip. It is a working fermentation lab — kombucha brewed on site from local ingredients, with a broader interest in cultured foods generally — and the kombucha and kava lounge is the retail face of it, on Vance Avenue in Ridgedale, east of downtown.

What that means in practice is that the non-alcoholic drinks here are made by fermentation specialists rather than by a bartender working around an absent spirit.
