2501 N Harwood St Suite 225, Dallas, TX 75201
Mercat Bistro is at 2501 North Harwood Street in the Harwood District, north of downtown, and belongs to Harwood Hospitality, the group behind Te Deseo, Saint Ann, NDA Brasserie, Tequila Social, Dolce Riviera, Poco Fiasco, Elephant East, Happiest Hour and the district's Harwood Arms. It is a French bistro open from 7am on weekdays through dinner, with brunch at the weekend and a happy hour from 2:30pm to 5pm. Dinner, which the menu calls Le Dîner, runs from 5pm to 9pm Monday to Thursday and until 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
Its two zero-proof cocktails sit on the main cocktail list rather than a separate card, both at $10 and both marked non alcoholic. The Montmartre is zero-proof whiskey and zero-proof aperitif with tonic and a Luxardo cherry; La Côte is zero-proof gin with orange juice, saffron, coriander, club soda and thyme. The Dallas Observer reported in June 2025 that Harwood Hospitality was adding a signature zero-proof programme to every restaurant and cafe in the group, with drinks at around $10 or less, and named these two as Mercat's. They share the list with French-leaning cocktails such as La Vie en Rose, with elderflower liqueur, French aperitif, raspberries and sparkling wine, and the Mademoiselle, with gin, elderflower and grapefruit. The same announcement took seed and nut oils out of every kitchen in the group, and Mercat's menu now notes that it cooks only with tallow rendered in-house from Harwood's own beef programme.
With two zero-proof drinks it is a restaurant with a good option for non-drinkers rather than a destination for them, but both are proper builds on non-alcoholic spirits rather than juice and soda. Mercat is open from 7am to 9pm Monday to Thursday and until 10pm on Friday; on Saturday it serves from 10am to 3pm and again from 5pm to 10pm, and on Sunday from 10am to 9pm. Reservations can be made through its website.
