Mitsi opened on 17 April 2026 on Naud Street, in the industrial pocket where Chinatown meets Mission Junction, and it was built by Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons through TVG, the hospitality company he runs alongside a string of music venues. It sits next door to Pacific Electric, a small concert room, and that adjacency explains the design brief. The Infatuation, reviewing it in May 2026, put the look somewhere between Soho House and a converted church and described the whole thing as deliberately designed for grown-up pre-gaming - stylish digs with surprisingly creative drinks and premium snacks, rather than a destination restaurant. There are around 110 seats across indoor and outdoor space, and a working sushi counter built into one end of the long bar, with a menu from chef Jon Kim.

The cocktail programme is the headline and it is genuinely inventive - an Old Fashioned with rye, Amontillado sherry, miso honey and overproof rum; a tomato-water fifty-fifty martini; a palo-santo-smoked Negroni. Alcohol is served throughout. What earns the listing here is that the drink menu carries its own named Spirit Free section rather than folding non-alcoholic options into the soft drinks. The three current entries are curated bottles rather than house builds, and they are well chosen. The Phony Negroni is St. Agrestis's bottled non-alcoholic negroni out of Brooklyn, which is one of the few pre-made drinks in the category with enough bitterness to sit next to a real one. The other two come from S.C Lab in Taiwan, a producer that ferments and carbonates tea rather than sweetening it: a Longan Osmanthus Flower sparkling tea under the FOMO label, floral and honeyed, and a Tieguanyin Apple sparkling tea under ETHER, built on the roasted oolong.

Practical notes worth having. Mitsi opens three nights a week only - Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 6pm to 1am - and is closed Sunday through Wednesday, so it is easy to get wrong. The kitchen stops at 11pm even though the bar runs two hours later. Prices are not published for the spirit-free list on the online menu, and the handrolls are, in The Infatuation's phrasing, enjoyable if expensive. Parking on Naud Street is street-only and the block is quiet and industrial, which is part of the appeal and worth knowing after dark.
