Mírate is an award-winning Mexican restaurant and bar in the heart of Los Feliz, opened in late 2022 as the second project from the team behind Beverly Hills' Mirame — chef-owner Joshua Gil and partner Matthew Egan — with a mezcal-forward beverage program led by star barman Max Reis (previously of Gracias Madre). The dramatic 7,500-square-foot, multi-level space, designed by Alexa Nafisi-Movaghar with inspiration drawn from the 1920s colonial furnishings of Oaxaca's La Verde Antequera and custom murals by Mexico City artist Jorge Telleache, wraps an open-air dining room around a towering 40-foot tree and rises to a mezzanine dining deck with a roof that opens up, plus two bars including a dedicated agave bar. Its drinks program has been recognized by North America's 50 Best Bars, where Mírate was named Best Bar in West USA in 2025. For non-drinkers, the bar menu carries a short "Bebidas Ancestral" section rooted in pre-Hispanic Mexican beverage tradition, including a house tepache (fermented pineapple with canela, clove and piloncillo) and a nitro pulque made from fermented agave sap.
