MOTW stands for Muslims of the World, the Instagram page Sajjad Shah started in 2014 during a period of heightened anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States. The account collected first-person stories and grew into a community of more than 670,000 followers; in 2021 Shah and his wife Fatimah opened the first MOTW cafe as a physical version of the same idea. The chain has since spread across several states, and the Javid family brought it to Quincy at 279 Willard Street, announced by What Now Boston in January 2026 and now trading. The pastry counter is Arabic-leaning, with baklava, milk cakes, date cookies and muffins, plus halal savory empanadas for anyone treating it as dinner. Everything on the menu is non-alcoholic, and the cafe is halal, which makes it a straightforward answer for readers who want an evening out with no alcohol anywhere in the room rather than a bar with a zero-proof section. Quincy sits at the end of the Red Line and draws from Braintree, Milton and Dorchester as well as its own large South Shore population, so the store functions as a regional late-night gathering point rather than a neighborhood coffee stop. What Now Boston reported the Quincy project in January 2026, when the store was still waiting on its certificate of occupancy; it is now trading, with published closing times of 9pm on weeknights and midnight on Friday and Saturday.
