Repeal 33

Repeal 33 takes its name from the Twenty-first Amendment, which repealed Prohibition in 1933, and sits on Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard on the western edge of the Historic District. The bar describes its list as a continuing exploration of inventive cocktails under beverage director Jim McCourt, and the alcohol-free drinks are folded into that exploration rather than parked at the end of it.

What that looks like in practice, according to Visit Savannah's zero-proof guide, is four separate builds that each take a different route to the same problem. Kiss From a Rose works on lemon, almond and rose water — floral and nutty, no spirit substitute involved. Best In Show is the crowd-pleaser, a strawberry shrub with fresh orange juice and lemon-lime soda. Two Tears is the technical one, built on a non-alcoholic botanical distillate with lemon and basil, which is the closest the list comes to a gin sour. Dry S.O.B. runs an alcohol-free aperitif syrup with orange and soda, an Americano in structure if not in alcohol.

Those four names are recorded here as evidence of the programme, not as a current order list, and this entry deliberately publishes no signature drinks for that reason. Three other Savannah venues in this guide have replaced every zero-proof drink the same tourism article credits them with, so the honest position is that Repeal 33 demonstrably runs a real alcohol-free list and the specific names should be checked on arrival.

The room trades from 4pm Monday through Friday, opening at 11am on Saturday and Sunday for brunch, and runs to 11pm or midnight depending on the night.
