Seedlip is widely credited as the world's first distilled non-alcoholic spirit, launched in 2015 by Ben Branson, who drew on his family's farming heritage in Lincolnshire, England and on 17th-century herbal distillation recipes (notably John French's 1651 "The Art of Distillation"). The first 1,000 hand-bottled bottles sold out at London's Selfridges within three weeks, and the brand quickly became a defining product of the modern no-and-low movement.

Each expression is distilled from individually macerated and distilled botanicals, then blended. The spirits are non-alcoholic (0.0% ABV) and contain no sugar, no sweeteners and no calories, and are designed to be used as a base for non-alcoholic cocktails rather than sipped neat. The core range comprises the herbal Garden 108 (peas, hay, rosemary, thyme, spearmint and hops), the aromatic Spice 94 (allspice, cardamom, oak, cascarilla and citrus peels) and the citrus-forward Grove 42 (Mediterranean orange, lemongrass, ginger and Japanese sansho pepper), later joined by an agave-style expression, Notas de Agave. Bottles are 700ml (23.7 fl oz).

In 2019, drinks giant Diageo acquired a majority shareholding in Seedlip, underscoring the brand's role in pioneering the non-alcoholic spirits category. Seedlip remains one of the most widely distributed and recognized non-alcoholic spirit brands worldwide.

Listen Bar

Williamsburg

Cocktail Bar
NA Program Strength: 5 of 5?·3 NA brands

IMPORTANT — LISTEN BAR APPEARS TO BE DORMANT. It is a pioneering alcohol-free bar that has always run as a roving pop-up rather than a fixed venue, founded by Lorelei Bandrovschi after a friend dared her to spend a month without drinking, and first opened in October 2018 as a five-day proof-of-concept in an empty South Williamsburg bar space. Staffed by musician bartenders, it became one of the original templates for the modern non-alcoholic bar and drew national press. As of August 2026, however, we can find no confirmed activity dated later than January 2025: the newest entry on its own events page is the Good AF Awards 2025, and no 2026 edition or event appears anywhere. Its website and Instagram both remain live and are written in the present tense, which is not the same as being open. Documented signature drinks have included Actual Sunshine, created by Eamon Rockey, and Dollar Slice, by Aaron Polsky, alongside Athletic Brewing beer and Pilot Kombucha on tap. Check before planning around it.
