Tea Do has been on North 10th Street in Chinatown for fifteen years, marking the anniversary in July 2026 — a long run in a category where most bubble tea shops turn over in three or four. It stays open until half past ten from Sunday to Thursday and half past eleven on Friday and Saturday, which puts it squarely in evening territory rather than afternoon.

The menu is numbered, which tells you something about how seriously the tea is taken: this is a list built to be worked through rather than a handful of flavours. The Grasshopper Tea Special pairs green apple and pear over green tea and finishes with lychee jelly, and the jelly is not a garnish — it changes the texture of the last third of the glass. Honey Jazz is the most restrained on the list, honey and jasmine with lemon over cold jasmine green tea, and it is the one to order if you dislike sweet drinks. The Hulk runs kiwi, green apple and lychee against jasmine green tea for something sharper. First Love uses red guava and passion fruit, both tropical and both acidic enough to hold up.

The milk teas are the other half. Tiger Milk Tea is the brown sugar and tapioca build — the streaked-glass drink that made the category famous — and Fire Dragon is the maximalist one, layering red bean, milk, grass jelly and tapioca into something closer to a dessert than a drink. The house list adds Juliet, with rose and pomegranate over green tea, and Tasty Maze, with white peach and raspberry.

The practical case for a tea house on a night out is texture and duration. A bubble tea takes twenty minutes to drink because you are chewing part of it, which solves the specific problem of holding an empty glass while everyone else orders another round. And Chinatown at ten at night is busy, well lit and full of places still serving food, which makes it one of the easier parts of Philadelphia to spend a late evening in without a bar.

On alcohol: no licence, nothing alcoholic on the menu. This is recorded as evidence rather than as a statement from the venue.
