The George on Washington St.

121 Washington St, Providence, RI 02903
The George sits on Washington Street in downtown Providence, a short walk from Trinity Rep and the Providence Performing Arts Center, which makes it a natural stop either side of a show. It works as both restaurant and bar, and its non-alcoholic offering is broader than most of the city's — three documented builds rather than the one that the majority of Providence rooms manage.
The three cover distinct ground, which is what makes the spread useful rather than repetitive. The cucumber mojito is the long, fresh option, built on muddled cucumber and mint for something you can drink slowly across an evening. The alcohol-free margarita covers the sharp, citrus-and-salt end, and it is the drink most often ruined by bars that simply pour limeade — done properly it wants fresh lime and enough salt to carry it. The non-alcoholic sangria is the one that suits a table sharing food, a fruit-and-spice build that stands in for a glass of red without pretending to be one.
Three builds is the threshold where a non-drinker stops having to order the same thing all night, which is why this sits comfortably at a three rather than the two we have assigned to the city's single-mocktail rooms. All three are named on Go Providence's own guide, published by the city's tourism board in August 2026 — the freshest source available for this metro.
We have not published prices or exact ingredient lists, as the restaurant does not publish its drinks menu online. The downtown location means it is well served by the Washington Street garages, and it is one of the few kitchens in the immediate theatre district that runs late enough for a post-show meal.
