Athletic Brewing in Boston, MA

Beyond Proof is a fully alcohol-free craft cocktail bar at 597 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, opened in April 2026 by Krista Kranyak, who converted her own long-running restaurant Ten Tables into what is widely reported as Boston's first zero-proof bar. Every drink is built at 0% ABV and the list is organised into sections headed Florals, Groundings, Rewritten Classics, Awakenings and Simple Sips, with straight $9 pours of zero-proof tequila, gin, vodka, bourbon and mezcal for guests who want something plainer. The kitchen serves a Lebanese and Mediterranean mezze menu of hummus boards, fire-roasted carrots, saffron tahdig bites, knafeh and slow-cooked pots. One drink, the Settle, is made with kava, a psychoactive root, which the bar names openly on the menu.

SRV is a Venetian bacaro and wine bar at 569 Columbus Avenue in Boston's South End, opened in 2016 as the third concept from Coda Restaurant Group, which also runs The Salty Pig, Gufo and Baleia. The name is short for Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia, and the kitchen follows the format: cicchetti to pick at, pasta made from locally milled flour, and risotto cooked to order. The drinks list carries a standing section headed Zero & Low Proof, which is split three ways into non-alcoholic cocktails at $11 to $12, three non-alcoholic wines by the glass at $13 to $14, and three non-alcoholic beers. The cocktails are house builds rather than bought-in mixers.

Pagu is chef-owner Tracy Chang's Spanish-Japanese tapas restaurant at 310 Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square, Cambridge, a Michelin Bib Gourmand holder that draws on Chang's training across Japanese, Spanish and Taiwanese cooking. The kitchen is entirely nut-free and works hard around gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan requests. The drinks list prints a non-alcoholic section on the same page as the cocktails, built mostly from tea, fruit and vinegar rather than zero-proof spirits: an oolong-based mojito, a guava and hibiscus cooler, and a pomegranate build with chocolate bitters and rose water, all between $5 and $10. Pagu also bottles its own rotating sparkling tea and pours Athletic Brewing's non-alcoholic IPA, plus single-origin teas and Gracenote coffee.

Alcove is a waterfront restaurant and bar at 50 Lovejoy Wharf in Boston's West End, a few steps from TD Garden and North Station, with a patio on the Charles River that is one of the few genuinely water-facing terraces in the neighbourhood. The kitchen runs a coastal New England menu of line-caught seafood, farm vegetables and locally sourced meats alongside an extensive wine list. The drinks menu prints a named spirit-free section holding five drinks between $11 and $13 — roughly half the price of the house cocktails — including a shandy built on Athletic Brewing's Free Wave non-alcoholic IPA that can be ordered in pitchers for four. Two non-alcoholic beers are stocked at $7.

Cafe Sauvage is a French cafe, kitchen and bar at the Massachusetts Avenue end of Back Bay, cooking modern French food with European and African influences and serving brunch daily alongside dinner. Its drinks card prints a section headed mocktails with five named alcohol-free drinks at $9 to $11, well below the $14 to $16 cocktails. Still in the Bus is fresh blueberries, lavender syrup and club soda; the Ochoa Save is described on the menu as everything you love about a margarita, minus the booze; Le Carre Magique layers pineapple, basil and orange with a coconut-strawberry lime foam; DKR Sunrise combines orange juice, bissap, passion fruit and club soda; and Parisian Sakura is lychee, ginger syrup, lime and club soda. Athletic Brewing's Upside Dawn golden ale is poured at 0%.
