Listen Bar
Williamsburg
IMPORTANT — LISTEN BAR APPEARS TO BE DORMANT. It is a pioneering alcohol-free bar that has always run as a roving pop-up rather than a fixed venue, founded by Lorelei Bandrovschi after a friend dared her to spend a month without drinking, and first opened in October 2018 as a five-day proof-of-concept in an empty South Williamsburg bar space. Staffed by musician bartenders, it became one of the original templates for the modern non-alcoholic bar and drew national press. As of August 2026, however, we can find no confirmed activity dated later than January 2025: the newest entry on its own events page is the Good AF Awards 2025, and no 2026 edition or event appears anywhere. Its website and Instagram both remain live and are written in the present tense, which is not the same as being open. Documented signature drinks have included Actual Sunshine, created by Eamon Rockey, and Dollar Slice, by Aaron Polsky, alongside Athletic Brewing beer and Pilot Kombucha on tap. Check before planning around it.
Minus Moonshine
Prospect Heights
Minus Moonshine is a fully alcohol-free bottle shop in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, opened in 2021 by founder Aqxyl Storms — making it one of New York City's earliest dedicated zero-proof package shops. From the street it reads like a neighborhood liquor store, but every bottle is non-alcoholic: NA beer, wine, spirits, aperitifs, mixers, bitters, and adaptogenic "potions." Inventory spans well-known zero-proof names including Ghia, Seedlip, Kin Euphorics, and Curious Elixirs, alongside NA wines and CBD/adaptogen spritzers. The shop is Queer, Trans-Nonbinary, Indigenous and Autistic owned, and is built around the idea of "drink what you love" — non-alcoholic whiskey, wine and aperitivo for sober and sober-curious customers, rather than substitutes framed as compromises. A second Brooklyn shop is open in Greenpoint, at 257 Driggs Ave.
Minus Moonshine
Greenpoint
The second Minus Moonshine bottle shop, on the corner of Driggs Avenue and Eckford Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Like the original Prospect Heights store it is entirely alcohol-free: NA beer, wine, spirits, aperitifs, ready-to-drink cocktails, mixers and bitters, from a stock list the shop has been building since 2021 that includes Ghia, Seedlip, Kin Euphorics and Curious Elixirs. Minus Moonshine is Queer, Trans-Nonbinary, Indigenous and Autistic owned, and founder Aqxyl Storms has run both shops on a "drink what you love" premise — zero-proof versions of the drinks people actually miss, rather than substitutes framed as compromises. Open seven days a week, with same-day local delivery on orders placed online before 5pm.
Spirited Away
Chelsea
Spirited Away was America's first booze-free bottle shop and it is still the most complete one in New York, now on Eighth Avenue in Chelsea after starting life on Mott Street. Nothing on the shelves contains meaningful alcohol. The buy runs past 100 brands — Seedlip and Ritual Zero Proof alongside Ghia and The Pathfinder, Copenhagen Sparkling Tea, Unified Ferments, non-alcoholic wines from Sovi and Prima Pave, plus beers, bitters, shrubs, amari, mixers and ready-to-drink cocktails. It opens noon to 8pm every day of the week and delivers across Manhattan, free over $100. The shop is not just retail: it runs in-store tastings and events, which for a lot of people is the low-pressure way into the category.
