Amazonia occupies a converted house on Hopkins Avenue in Birdtown, the small Lakewood district a few streets from LBM, and pairs a cocktail bar with a wood-fired pizza kitchen and a short menu of small plates. The rooms are domestic in scale — you are drinking in someone's front parlour, which is much of the appeal — and the bar leans tropical without tipping into tiki kitsch. It opens at 4pm daily except Monday and runs to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, with a happy hour taking $2 off menu cocktails and half off pizza early in the week. The room is 21-and-over, so this is an adults' bar that serves people who are not drinking rather than a family restaurant with a mocktail page — a distinction that matters if what you want is a night out rather than a dinner.
Both the kitchen and the bar work from scratch, and the non-alcoholic drinks are the part of the programme that has drawn the most attention locally. Cleveland Magazine's 2026 mocktail roundup described the alcohol-free versions as nuanced rather than reduced, and used the Coconut Song as its example: the zero-proof build costs $15, the same as the original, and reconstructs the full drink using Seedlip and Lyre's non-alcoholic spirits, the bar's own syrups, a custom smoking step and a charred lime.
That smoking and charring is what carries it. Burnt sugar and smoke supply the bitterness and aroma that rum would otherwise provide, so the result lands as a cocktail with a long finish rather than a fruit punch — the single hardest thing to get right in a tropical zero-proof drink, where sweetness usually swamps everything. Other drinks on the list can be built spirit-free on request from the same components, and the bar team is comfortable doing it, which makes the whole menu effectively available rather than just one line of it.
