Cabin Boys Brewery

Most brewery taprooms that stock a non-alcoholic beer stock whatever the distributor pushed, which is usually a mass-market lager and usually disappointing. Cabin Boys, in Tulsa's Kendall-Whittier neighbourhood, keeps Big Drop's Pine Trail Pale Ale — and that specific choice is the reason the taproom is in this guide.

Big Drop is a British brewer that makes only alcohol-free beer, and it does it by brewing to 0.5% from the start rather than making a full-strength beer and stripping the alcohol out afterwards. The difference is audible in the glass: de-alcoholised beers tend to lose their body and their hop aromatics along with the ethanol, and the good ones spend a lot of effort putting those back. A beer designed never to have alcohol in it does not have to. Pine Trail is Big Drop's pale ale and it is one of the more convincing alcohol-free beers made anywhere.

Stocking it is a considered decision by a brewery that could easily have stocked nothing, and Tulsa Remote picked it out in its January 2025 ranking of the city's alcohol-free drinking.

This entry is graded three, which is the correct level for a taproom whose alcohol-free offer is one imported beer rather than a programme of its own — Nothing's Left, a few blocks away, actually brews its non-alcoholic line, and Bend and Burlington in this directory have breweries doing the same. What Cabin Boys offers is the simplest and often most wanted thing: a good beer, in a brewery, that happens to have no alcohol in it.

Open 4pm to 9pm Monday through Wednesday, to 11pm on Thursday, noon to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7pm on Sunday.
