105 Haywood Ln, Antioch, TN 37013
This is the second Deir Cafe, and it is the one that does what its owner said he wanted to do all along. Yousef Gumiza opened the original on Hagan Street in Wedgewood-Houston, named for Deir al-Balah in Gaza, where his family is from. He told WPLN in March 2025 that night cafes are what his family loves and that people hang out until 1am - a normal way to spend an evening across the Middle East, and one that does not require a bar. The Hagan Street room closes at 6pm and could not deliver that. The Antioch shop can: it runs 9am to 1am, seven days a week, and serves no alcohol at any point.
What Now Nashville first reported the expansion in January 2026, with permit filings showing Deir taking over the La Princesa Market space at 105 Haywood Lane. Antioch is inside Metro Nashville-Davidson County, about eight miles southeast of downtown, and it is one of the most linguistically diverse parts of the city - the location is a deliberate one rather than a suburban overflow.
The drinks carry over from the original. The signature lattes lean Mediterranean: a Baklawa latte, a Golden Lotus latte built with biscoff and caramel, a Strawberry Dubai Chocolate latte, a Banana Spice latte. The cold side is named in Arabic for the fruit in the glass - Roman for pomegranate, Ward for rose, Khokh for peach, Passion Habibi for passion fruit. Matcha, smoothies and pastries including croissants fill out the rest, and the kitchen leans Mediterranean. Two practical notes. First, this is a cafe rather than a bar: there is no cocktail-style zero-proof list, and what you are buying is a table, a pot and a room that stays open when everything else in the neighbourhood has shut. Second, the 1am close is the whole reason to know about it, and it is unusual enough in Nashville that it is worth confirming on the day before making the drive.
