Eastern Market Brewing Co.

Eastern Market Brewing Co. opened in 2017 in Detroit's Eastern Market district, co-founded by Dayne Bartscht as a full production brewery and taproom rather than a bar reselling other companies' beer. The taproom sits at 2515 Riopelle St., in the same historic wholesale-produce district that gives the brewery its name.

Unlike venues that stock a token non-alcoholic import, Eastern Market Brewing ferments its own N/A beer in-house. The lineup is anchored by 313 N/A IPA, the brewery's best-selling non-alcoholic release, which has repeatedly sold out and returns in 2026 with a refreshed label and expanded production. It's joined by Dad Bod, a new hazy N/A IPA built to be juicy and approachable, and Rotten Pretty, a new series of N/A sour beers debuting in tangerine and grapefruit with more flavors planned through the year.

In January 2026, founder Dayne Bartscht announced the brewery's 2026 goal was "to be known as Michigan's N/A beer," pointing to shifting consumer behavior (Gallup data cited in coverage put 2025 U.S. drinking rates at a record-low 54%, down from 67% in 2022) as the reason to double down on the category. The push includes new retail partnerships with Busch's and Total Wine, including in-store tastings.

The taproom keeps the same community-brewery feel that built its regular crowd: live music, trivia nights, and a running club round out the space alongside the beer list, open Tuesday through Sunday.
