905 W Fulton Market, Chicago, IL 60607
Sitting at the corner of Peoria and Fulton in Chicago's Fulton Market district, LÝRA is one of the neighborhood's more thoughtful destinations for non-drinkers. The restaurant's NA program goes beyond an afterthought soda list: the menu includes two named zero-proof cocktails and, as noted by Do312, an alcohol-removed wine list — an unusual touch for a full-service Greek concept. The 8,000-square-foot space, with its covered outdoor patio and warm earth-toned interior, means there's no penalty for ordering non-alcoholic; you're seated comfortably in the full dining room, not shuffled to a corner.
The two signature zero-proof drinks anchor the NA menu. The Halara pairs Amass Zero Proof spirit with pomegranate, lemon, mint, and tonic for a bright, herbal pour that reads like a more complex Tom Collins riff. The Cypress takes a more tropical angle — Amass Zero Proof with pineapple, lime, and ginger — clean and refreshing alongside the kitchen's grilled proteins. Both drinks were developed to reflect what the restaurant describes as the natural Greek lifestyle ethos. LÝRA's culinary program is led by Chef Athinagoras Kostakos, an internationally recognized Greek chef whose menu centers on a custom wood and charcoal burning hearth.
LÝRA skews lively rather than intimate: expect a DJ and a club-like energy after 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, dimmed lights, and sparklers during the late-night 'Weekend Ritual' service. Earlier weeknight seatings are noticeably calmer and better suited for conversation. Reservations are strongly recommended and are accepted exclusively through OpenTable, released 60 days in advance. It's a solid pick for sober or sober-curious diners who want the full Fulton Market experience — a scene-y room, serious food, and a drinks list that doesn't treat non-alcoholic as a lesser category.
