Nest at Nurture

Nest is the counter-service cafe at the centre of Nurture, the wellness campus at 2949 Federal Boulevard that Denver's official neighbourhood boundaries place in West Highland. Nurture combines fitness studios, treatment rooms and care providers under one roof, and Nest opened within it in May 2020 under co-founder Kelly Campbell, with Elizabeth Woodard as culinary director. The kitchen's stated mission is nourishing bodies and minds from the inside out, turning organic ingredients into everyday meals, and the menu reflects that: smoothies, salads, tartines, dosas and other counter-service food alongside a beverage programme that is considerably more developed than the room's size suggests.

The drinks are where Nest earns a place in Denver's non-alcoholic map. The organic cold-pressed juices are named rather than described by ingredient list — the Jasper is a watermelon, lime, jalapeño and cilantro blend that carries real heat, and the Onyx pairs lavender and raw honey with lemon and ginger, finished with activated charcoal. The coffee menu extends well past espresso into adaptogenic territory, using mushroom extracts and aromatic oils including palo santo, and an iced mushroom coffee is served with oat milk or Origin A2 whole milk. There is a further tier of house drinks built for their functional ingredients rather than for flavour alone — the Root to Rise and the Superfood Steamer among them — and Westword's January 2026 round-up of local non-alcoholic options describes the cafe as offering "nourishing fare, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, adaptogenic concoctions, coffee beverages and a range of tasty mocktails". The honest caveat is hours: Nest closes at 4pm on weekdays and 3pm at weekends, so it fails the going-out test that separates a genuine evening alternative from a daytime cafe. It is listed here as a solid daytime option in a neighbourhood — West Highland, just north of Sloan's Lake — where Denver's non-alcoholic coverage is otherwise thin, rather than as a substitute for a night out. Nurture is a licensed campus and the cafe has served alcohol, so this is not an alcohol-free venue.
