6996 Piazza Grande Ave Ste 103, Orlando, FL 32835

Owned and operated by native Pacific Islanders, Pacific Rootz calls itself Orlando's '1st and ONLY true Kava Bar.' At 6996 Piazza Grande Ave in MetroWest, the lounge leans into an authentic island-retreat feel - original Pacific-island art and history on the walls, poly reggae on the speakers, and traditional Tongan and Fijian kava prepared and served the customary way, by the shell or by the gallon. Regulars also single out the 'Big Kahuna,' a specialty cup that has built its own following alongside the shell-and-gallon traditionalists.

Happy hour runs 6-8pm with buy-one-get-one cups, there's a free pool table, and the room fills up after 8pm most nights; the lounge also hosts open-mic nights for the neighborhood's creative crowd.

As with any kava bar, Pacific Rootz is alcohol-free by design but not substance-free - alongside its Tongan and Fijian kava, the lounge also pours kratom drinks (a single blend of all three strains), another traditional, mildly psychoactive botanical distinct from a strictly caffeine-only sober space. It's open evenings, Monday-Friday 6pm-2am and weekends 7pm-2am.
