Sorekara

Sorekara opened in March 2024 in Orlando's Baldwin Park neighborhood from chef-owner William Shen and business partners Johnny and Jimmy Tung, whose tasting menu is built around Japan's 72 micro-seasons and unfolds across several rooms over multiple hours; desserts are helmed by pastry chef Francesco Benedetto, previously of the three-Michelin-starred Quique Dacosta in Denia, Spain. In April 2025 Sorekara became just the second restaurant in Florida, after Miami's L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, to earn two Michelin stars, cementing it as one of Central Florida's most significant fine-dining destinations; the same year, Sorekara team member Austin Joseph won the Michelin Guide's Florida Service Award.

Alongside its roughly $345 tasting menu, Sorekara offers a dedicated non-alcoholic beverage pairing (around $195) built from fermented teas, de-alcoholized sparkling wine, and pickled fruit juices, plus a house-made non-alcoholic 'Chardonnay' created specifically for the restaurant and not sold anywhere else. Diners are also welcomed with a pre-meal carrot soda, served in the waiting room before the tasting begins.

Located across the street from fellow Baldwin Park restaurant Camille, Sorekara draws visitors from across Florida willing to book far in advance for one of its limited nightly seatings, Thursday through Saturday.
