Atwells Avenue is the spine of Federal Hill, Providence's historic Italian neighbourhood, marked at its entrance by the bronze pinecone hanging over the arch at DePasquale Square. Providence Oyster Bar sits in the middle of it, which makes it an unusual thing — a serious raw bar in a district built on red sauce — and it has held that position for years on the strength of its shellfish.
For a non-drinker the room offers two documented builds, and both are chosen well for the setting. The blood orange nojito takes the mojito's mint-and-lime frame and swaps in blood orange, which gives it enough bitterness to work against oysters rather than fighting them. The Italian spritz is the alcohol-free rendering of the drink the neighbourhood runs on — the bittersweet orange aperitif style that every table on Atwells drinks in summer — and having it available without alcohol on this particular street is a genuinely useful thing.
Two constructed drinks rather than a printed section puts this at a three. What lifts it above the many Providence restaurants with a single token mocktail is that both builds are recognisably part of a drinking culture rather than sweetened juice, and that they are designed to sit alongside food.
Both drinks are named on Go Providence's own mocktail guide, published by the city's tourism board in August 2026. We have not published prices or a fuller list, as the restaurant does not publish its drinks menu online. Federal Hill is dense with parking difficulty on weekend evenings; the municipal lots off Atwells are the sane option.
