Radhaus

Radhaus occupies Building A at Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture, on the Marina waterfront between Aquatic Park and the Marina Green, and is run as an Alpine beer hall: long communal tables, a wall of taps pouring German and Austrian bier, and a kitchen turning out schnitzel, currywurst, sausages, pretzels and rotisserie chicken. The building's windows face the bay, the terrace takes dogs, and the restaurant opens from noon most days, which makes it one of the few places in the city where a long afternoon is the intended use rather than an accident.

The alcohol-free drinking is better than the format suggests. The menu published on the restaurant's own site, marked as updated on 30 March 2026, carries a distinct N/A Cocktails heading with two house builds at $13 each. Die Zitronenbeere is made with Abstinence Lemon — one of the South African de-alcoholised botanical spirits — with raspberry wine and soda. Little Blossom is drier and more savoury, built from citrus, spice, ginger, a bier nectar and apple cider vinegar, which gives it the acidity that a beer-hall menu otherwise lacks. More usefully for a room whose whole identity is beer, the bottle list treats alcohol-free bier as a real category rather than a token: Weihenstephaner's N/A Weissbier is poured in half-litre bottles at $9, and an N/A Radler is available by the third of a litre at the same price, both listed among the imported bottles rather than hidden in a soft-drinks column. The Infatuation's guide to drinking without alcohol in San Francisco recommends the venue for exactly this combination of imported N/A beer and the ABV-less drinks list, though the specific drinks it names have since rotated off the card — the current pair are Die Zitronenbeere and Little Blossom. The kitchen list is unusually accommodating alongside them, running from oysters and pickled deviled eggs through to the full Alpine plates, so an alcohol-free visit here is a proper dinner rather than a stop for one drink.
