Redemption Bar

Redemption Bar opened in August 2025 on the fifth floor of Eric Church's Chief's on Lower Broadway, and it is country artist Ashley McBryde's bar. The context matters: Lower Broadway is one of the most relentlessly alcohol-soaked streets in the United States, a strip of honky-tonks where the entire economy runs on drinking, and putting a non-alcohol-forward bar in the middle of it is a genuinely unusual act. McBryde is nearly four years sober, and the bar grew directly out of that. It takes its name from her song "Redemption," and her own reaction to the idea is the most quotable thing any founder in this directory has said: "I couldn't believe that was an option. I thought I would end up owning a tattoo parlor or a coffee shop."

The zero-proof menu runs to eighteen drinks and is composed, in the bar's phrase, like a setlist — each one named after lyrics that carried her through, including Flickerin' Flames of Hell, Martini McBryde, Gospel Night and The Devil I Know. Eighteen named non-alcoholic drinks is one of the largest such lists anywhere in this directory, and it means a non-drinker on Broadway can go somewhere with a real menu rather than nursing a soda in a honky-tonk. Alcohol is also served, on the explicit principle that everyone is welcome, which is the right call for a room meant to be somewhere a sober person can bring their drinking friends rather than a separate space they retreat to.

Beyond the drinks there is an intimate troubadour-style stage built for solo and duo singer-songwriter sets — the format Nashville actually runs on, and a reason to stay for the night. The venue bills itself as Broadway's first NA-focused bar, and there is a full food menu alongside both lists. Open daily, to 3am on Friday and Saturday.
