The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club opened on 28 September 2017 at 2905B Gallatin Pike, hidden behind an Italian restaurant on the Inglewood stretch of East Nashville. It came out of a holiday conversation between Bryan Rushton and Andrew Cook, longtime music-industry friends and Massachusetts natives who had both settled in Nashville, and the room they built is small and comfortable rather than showy: roughly a thousand square feet holding a main bar, three high-tops, a few booths and a two-seat perch by the door, fitted out in reclaimed wood salvaged from Nashville-area houses by local makers 1767 Designs. The bar has drawn national attention well out of proportion to its size — Food & Wine named it one of the ten best bars in the United States in 2023, Eater Nashville made it Bar of the Year the same year, it took third in the Nashville Scene's readers' poll for best bar, and USA Today's 2026 list described it as one of the city's strongest cocktail programs. The kitchen sends out miso deviled eggs and a wagyu hotdog on a Japanese milk bun.

The Fox was among the first Nashville bars to treat zero-proof drinks as real cocktails, and the most useful thing to know about its list is that it rotates. The drinks change with the seasons alongside the alcoholic menu, so any list you find in an older article will be out of date — a good sign, since it means the non-alcoholic side is being rewritten rather than left to sit. The current three are each $12 and each built on a different idea. East Coast Inferno is the savoury one, combining Sanbittèr Red with orange juice, Old Bay seasoning, habanero and lemon. Pêche Mode is the softest, using Almave Ámbar non-alcoholic tequila with peach, lime and salted honey. Duck Hunt is the most unusual thing on either menu: duck fat-washed Lapsang Souchong tea with The Pathfinder, cherry and barbecue bitters. The bar keeps several hundred bottles in-house and has long given its bartenders wide latitude, so it is a reasonable place to ask for something off-list. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm to midnight, closed Mondays.

One of the best bars in the city, The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club in East Nashville is a dimly lit den that draws a crowd — reservations are a smart bet here.
