Non-alcoholic menu: what to order

Compiled from the venue's published menu, confirmed .

Tall Order opened in March 2025 at 70 Beacon Street, taking over the Thirsty Scholar Pub, which had traded on the site for nearly three decades before closing in 2024. The new operators are Daren Swisher and Joe Cammarata, who also own Daiquiris and Daisies on High Street in Boston. Boston Magazine reported the succession on August 22, 2024, framing Tall Order as a deliberately welcoming cocktail bar replacing the old pub, BostonChefs noted the opening in March 2025, and the Boston Globe reviewed it on May 29, 2025 under a headline about finding a bar for every taste. The bar's own reasoning about its alcohol-free offering has been made explicit in the press: in WBUR's April 30, 2026 report on Boston restaurants and no-alcohol cocktails, the position given was that in the current consumer climate a bar needs a substantial focus on lower-alcohol and no-alcohol cocktails.

That shows up in the structure of the menu itself, which is divided into full-strength drinks, a low-ABV section and a block headed No Alcohol rather than burying alcohol-free options at the foot of the page. The three named zero-proof cocktails are all priced at $12.36. Blue Shroom is built on Oddbird non-alcoholic sparkling rose with blueberry, cardamom and mushroom; 1,2,3,4 combines Earl Grey and verjus with vanilla, a mango foam and tajin; and Bitter Bali uses Lucano and Giffard non-alcoholic bitters with pineapple and Gracenote cold brew, Gracenote being a Berkshires-founded roaster with a Boston presence. A further block headed More NA Offerings carries Rescue Club non-alcoholic pilsner and IPA at $7.21, Oddbird non-alcoholic sparkling rose at $10.30, the St. Agrestis Phony Negroni at $11.33, Lagunitas hop water at $6.18, Saratoga sparkling or still at $10.30 and Maine Root fountain soda at $5.15. The kitchen runs a New American menu alongside, and the bar trades late: 5pm to 1am Sunday through Thursday and 5pm to 2am on Friday and Saturday.

In the current kind of consumer climate in this day and age you need to have a substantial focus on lower-alcohol and no-alcohol cocktails.
