Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher is a zero-alcohol, zero-calorie, zero-carb sparkling hop water from Lagunitas Brewing Company, the California craft brewery known for its IPAs. It is dry-hopped using Citra, Equinox and Centennial hops, with a touch of nutritional brewer's yeast and natural flavors to coax IPA-like aromatics from the hops without any alcohol, sugar or gluten. The result is an IPA-inspired refreshment that delivers hop aroma and a citrusy zing rather than the bitterness of the brewery's beers.

First released in California as "Hoppy Sparkling Water" and rolled out nationally under the Hoppy Refresher name in 2019, it is brewed at Lagunitas in Petaluma, California. It helped popularize the sparkling hop-water category that later rivals such as Sierra Nevada Hop Splash entered.

The lineup spans an Original plus fruited variants — Lemon + Berry, Blood Orange and Passionfruit — sold in 12oz cans and bottles, individually and in a four-flavor variety pack. Because it contains 0.0% ABV and no calories, carbs or added sugar, it is positioned as a non-alcoholic, all-day alternative to beer.

  • Hoppy Refresher Lemon + Berry
  • Hoppy Refresher Blood Orange

ABV

Mission

Cocktail Bar
★★★★?·1 NA brand

ABV is a Mission District cocktail bar that opened in summer 2014, founded by Erik Reichborn-Kjennerud, Ryan Fitzgerald, and Todd Smith (a founding Bourbon & Branch bartender). It was named Imbibe Magazine's 2015 Bar of the Year and ranked #39 in the inaugural North America's 50 Best Bars (2022), the only San Francisco bar on that list. The menu is organized by base spirit, with dedicated "LOW ABV" and "0% ABV" sections that make the no/low offering a standing, structured part of the program rather than an afterthought. The non-alcoholic cocktails ($14) center on a house "n/a aperitif" and bright, fresh builds — the N/A Negroni (n/a aperitif, charred grapefruit tonic), Flightless Bird, Green Dream (tarragon, lemon, ginger, tonic), and Jumpstart (carrot, ginger, turmeric, lemon, soda) — alongside Lagunitas Hop Water and IPNA. ABV makes drinks to order and runs a late kitchen until midnight.

It's a casual, walk-in outdoor drinking spot known for live music, food trucks, and community events, welcoming families until its evening 21+ transition. Non-drinkers are well served: the standing drinks menu carries named mocktails like the Elderberry Spritz (Giffard Elderflower, lemon, Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher), the Jalapina Business (Giffard pineapple, mango, lime, jalapeño, mineral water), and the Briney Melon Refresher (watermelon, lime, mint, ginger beer). The NA-beer lineup is extensive — Athletic Upside Dawn and Free Wave, Lagunitas IPNA, Best Day Electro-Lime, and Brooklyn Special Effects — plus kombucha, hopped seltzers, and Topo Chico. Hop City Craft Beer & Wine

Krog Street Market

Bottle Shop
★★★★?·6 NA brands

Hop City Craft Beer & Wine is the Krog District (formerly Krog Street Market) outpost of the Atlanta beer-and-wine retailer founded by Kraig Torres in 2009. The location pairs a curated bottle shop with an adjacent full-service bar pouring dozens of rotating draft selections. For non-drinkers, the appeal is two-fold: the shop keeps a deep, dedicated non-alcoholic section, and the bar runs a dedicated N/A draft line that rotates between Untitled Art and Athletic Brewing. The retail NA shelf is one of the broadest in the city, spanning Athletic Brewing (Free Wave, Run Wild, Upside Dawn), Untitled Art, Guinness 0.0, Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher, Brooklyn Special Effects, Best Day, Ghia, and St. Agrestis Phony Negroni, with Sober Carpenter sold by the single. Sitting directly on the Eastside BeltLine trail, it's a practical NA stop whether you want a pour or a six-pack to go.

Red Rabbit

Summit Hill, St. Paul

Restaurant
★★★★★?·1 NA brand

Red Rabbit is an "uncomplicated, authentic Italian" restaurant — pizza, pasta, and oysters — owned by Luke Shimp, the restaurateur behind the Red Cow burger group. The original Red Rabbit opened in 2016 in Minneapolis's North Loop; this Summit Hill location debuted in October 2018 at 788 Grand Ave in the former Wild Onion space, and in 2023 the concept was named one of FSR Magazine's Top 50 Independent Restaurants. Beyond the food, Red Rabbit keeps a genuine "Spirit Free" section in its beverage book, so non-drinkers get more than soda. Named zero-proof options include a Spirit-Free Old Fashioned (Spiritless 74 NA bourbon, demerara, NA bitters), a Spirit-Free Martini (Abstinence NA gin), the Ginger Spritz, the canned Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher, and a bottled St. Agrestis Phony Negroni. Verdigris

Leawood, KS

Cocktail Bar
★★★★★?·1 NA brand

Verdigris is an upscale cocktail bar and lounge inside the Park Place development in Leawood, Kansas, opened in spring 2020 by owners David and Noelle Manica with the team behind Kansas City's Monarch Bar. The room is themed around verdigris — the green patina of weathered copper — and the menu organizes drinks as classic, light, rich, and imperial cocktails. The non-alcoholic offering is built into the cocktail list itself: several signature drinks are explicitly marked "available non-alcoholic," meaning the bar builds spirit-free versions of named house cocktails to order. Confirmed spirit-free options on the 2026 menu include the Green Maiden (cucumber, snap pea, green tea, ginger, lime), the Ibisco (hibiscus, pineapple, lime, orgeat), the Aqua Regia (orange, turmeric, aperitif, strawberry seltzer), and the Whiskey Bramble. The packaged non-alcoholic pour is the 0.0% Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher. Verdigris was voted Best Johnson County Bar in Kansas City Magazine's Best of 2026.
