Binge Bar

H Street Corridor (Atlas District)

Bar
NA Program Strength: 5 of 5?·3 NA brands

Binge Bar is Washington DC's first 100% alcohol-free bar, in a lower-level space at 506 H Street NE in the Atlas District. Filipina entrepreneur Vergie "Gigi" Arandid founded the concept in June 2020 and opened to the public on 11 February 2023. It works as three things at once: a zero-proof cocktail bar, a Filipino bistro serving traditional bites alongside plant-based Mediterranean plates, and an events room. The drinks are built rather than poured - a Cucumber Mangorita, an Espresso Old Fashioned on Bare Zero Proof bourbon, a Passion Fruit Ginger Sour, a Hibiscus Reposado Margarita - alongside craft NA beer, vegan wines and canned mocktails. It won Best Craft Mocktail in Washington City Paper's 2024 Best of DC reader poll, and runs monthly sober comedy nights and vegan brunches. Nothing alcoholic is served.

Spark Social House is a daytime cafe and evening bar at 2009 14th Street NW in the U Street Corridor, one block from U Street Metro, billed as the country's first non-alcoholic LGBTQ+ bar and cafe when it opened on 8 March 2025. Co-founded by Nick Tsusaki and Shua Goodwin in the former Gibson space, it runs from 9am to as late as 1am. Named drinks include Jalapeno Business, It's That Me Espresso, Side Eye, Ultra Violet and Executive Orchard. It also serves kava and functional-mushroom drinks. Voted Best Coffee Shop by LGBTQ+ readers in 2025.

The Dabney

Shaw

Restaurant
NA Program Strength: 3 of 5?·1 NA brand

The Dabney is a Michelin-starred Mid-Atlantic restaurant at 122 Blagden Alley NW, a tucked-away corner of Shaw, opened in October 2015 by chef-owner Jeremiah Langhorne. The 55-seat dining room is built around a ten-foot wood-burning stone hearth, and almost everything passes through it. Langhorne's hyper-regional cooking won a Michelin star in 2017, the first year the guide reviewed Washington, and the 2018 James Beard Award for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic, on top of a place on Bon Appetit's Best New Restaurants of 2016. The bar, run by bar director Daniel Todd, keeps a dedicated spirit-free list available a la carte at the bar or paired alongside the tasting menu: a Fennel Sour built with toasted fennel, egg white, lime and lemon, and a Manhattan riff on a house sorghum-based faux whiskey with spicebush amaro and black walnut bitters.
