    Café Hollander Hilldale

    Hilldale

NA Program Strength: 3 of 5?

Café Hollander sits in the Hilldale shopping district on Madison's west side and works the Belgian café format — a long beer list, mussels and frites, a big terrace. Its relevance here is narrow but real: the kitchen pours non-alcoholic sparkling wine and will build it into a mimosa with orange juice, which sounds slight until you have tried to order brunch without alcohol in a room where everyone else is having one. Madison Eats Food Tours names it in the metro's must-try non-alcoholic round-up on that basis. It is the west side's most convenient sit-down option and one of the few with genuine weekend brunch service.

  2. #2 · Cocktail bar · NA beer on the menu

    Public Parking

    Tenney-Lapham

NA Program Strength: 4 of 5?

Public Parking opened on East Johnson Street in October 2024 and became nationally noticed almost immediately: Bon Appétit put it on its 2025 list of the Best New Bars in the US, and it was a James Beard Best New Bar semifinalist in 2026. The house style is long, absurd drink names, elaborate garnishes, irreverent glassware and cocktails served in nitro-chilled glass. The non-alcoholic drinks get the same treatment rather than a separate lesser one — the standing zero-proof build, "I'm Just a Baby . . . I Can Pay You In Blocks", runs smoked tea against lemon, ginger and bubbles. Open daily from 4pm to 2am.

  3. #3 · Brewery · NA beer on the menu

The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. — Downtown

    Capitol Neighborhoods

NA Program Strength: 3 of 5?

The Great Dane's downtown brewpub occupies the 1850s Fess Hotel building on East Doty Street, a block off the Capitol Square, and is the original of a five-pub Wisconsin group that has been brewing in Madison since 1994. It is in this guide because the bar keeps Ritual Zero Proof behind it and builds real drinks with it rather than pouring soda — the dark cherry margarita and the nada-paloma both use Ritual's non-alcoholic tequila alternative, and a very cherry mockarita runs on its agave spirit. For a brewpub in a beer state to stock a non-alcoholic tequila is a more deliberate choice than it first appears.

  4. #4 · Brewery · pours its own NA beer

    Octopi Brewing

    Waunakee

NA Program Strength: 4 of 5?

Octopi Brewing in Waunakee, fifteen minutes north of Madison, is where Untitled Art is brewed — one of the largest and most inventive non-alcoholic beer lines in the United States, and the single biggest reason the Madison metro matters on a national alcohol-free map. Isaac Showaki founded Octopi and launched Untitled Art with Levi Funk of Funk Factory Geuzeria in December 2016; the non-alcoholic range is fully fermented and then stripped of ethanol by reverse osmosis, which preserves the hop oils and malt character that boiling-off destroys. The taproom pours the line on site, including the mango dragonfruit sour and the west coast IPA that Visit Madison singles out.

    Karben4 Brewing

    Far East Side

NA Program Strength: 3 of 5?

Karben4 is a Madison brewery on Kinsman Boulevard on the far east side, and its taproom is on this list because the non-alcoholic side of the bar is stocked with intent rather than improvised. It is home to Wisco Pop soda — the Viroqua-made craft soda built from whole, organic ingredients — and to Sparkle unsweetened sparkling waters, both of which Visit Madison names in its guide to drinking alcohol-free in the city. In a taproom, having a genuinely good soda on tap rather than a gun-poured cola is most of what a non-drinker needs. Hours run afternoons and early evenings, closing at 8pm or 9pm.

How we know a Madison bar has NA beer

Three kinds of evidence put a venue on this page, and each card says which. The strongest is a menu we've read: the exact beers, the price where the menu prints one, and the date we confirmed it. Next are breweries — a brewery is in this directory because it pours non-alcoholic beer, often its own. Last are venues whose own menu or copy names a specific NA brand they carry. Nothing here is inferred from a review or a vague “great NA selection”.

“Non-alcoholic” is a legal band, not a promise of zero: under 0.5% ABV in the US, with “alcohol-free” reserved for 0.0%. The big lagers (Heineken 0.0, Guinness 0.0) are labeled 0.0%; most craft NA beers sit somewhere under 0.5%. We name the brand wherever the venue does so you can check the label that matters to you.

Draft NA beer is spreading but still uncommon, so we never assume it. A pour is marked “on draft” only when the venue's menu says tap or draft; everything else should be read as cans or bottles.
