Nightjar opened in 2011 on City Road at the northern edge of Shoreditch and was among the bars that defined London's modern cocktail revival. It was founded by Edmund Weil and Rosie Stimpson, a jazz, swing and blues singer, who set out to build a room that would do justice to the music as much as the drinks — Weil has said the idea came from the style and the music angle before the drinks, rooted in a love of art deco design and the pre-Prohibition era. It took Difford's Guide's Best New Bar award in its opening year and went on to place third on The World's 50 Best Bars in 2012. There is live music nightly, and the menu carries an explicit non-alcoholic section rather than off-menu mocktails: the signature Adonis is built from Taronja de Gris orange wine, Aperitivo Professore, Fino sherry, barrel-aged tsipouro and Muyu Vetiver Gris for genuine bittersweet depth.

Seed Library is the Shoreditch cocktail bar from Ryan Chetiyawardana, the bartender better known as Mr Lyan, who reshaped London drinking in 2013 with White Lyan — the first bar to work with no perishables, no ice and no branded spirits. His later rooms, Dandelyan (named the world's best bar in 2018) and its South Bank successor Lyaness, have been fixtures of the World's 50 Best list. Opened in the basement of the One Hundred Shoreditch hotel at 100 Shoreditch High Street, Seed Library is pitched as his neighbourhood bar: less theatrical than the flagship, built around what the team call stripped-back analogue forms and a maker's touch — minimal fuss, maximum flavour, drawn from unexpected ingredients. It is a low-lit room with a pared-back, produce-led list. Its "Pathways" menu carries four dedicated non-alcoholic serves, and roughly half the full cocktail list can be rebuilt booze-free; named low- and no-alcohol drinks include the Hand-Rolled Spritz and Master Stock Plus.
Order: Boozeless Coriander Seed Gimlet (Everleaf non-alcoholic aperitif, coriander seed cordial) · Boozeless Pink + Green Daiquiri (Seedlip Garden, nitro-ripened grape, lime) · Boozeless Orkney Breezer (Everleaf Marine, native tropical garum, rare-breed sheep, whipped citrus)

Artesian opened in 2008 as the bar of The Langham, the grande-dame hotel on Portland Place that has been synonymous with London glamour since 1865, and takes its name from the 360-foot artesian well that once drew the purest water in the city from beneath the hotel's foundations. The room was designed by David Collins Studio as a Victorian cabinet of curiosities: a soaring pagoda-topped bar, jewelled mirrored panelling, blue-and-purple faux-crocodile tiling, chinoiserie detail and its signature deep-purple leather chairs beneath high ceilings and tall bay windows. It is one of the most decorated cocktail bars in the world, named The World's Best Bar for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015. Head bartender Giulia Cuccurullo's "Ultimo" menu includes dedicated non-alcoholic serves: Currant, a booze-free paloma with Smiling Wolf agave and London Essence raspberry-rose soda, and an effervescent Apple built on Lyre's American Malt and Amaretto with Wignac cider.

Kwãnt is the Mayfair cocktail bar of Erik Lorincz, the Slovakia-born bartender who spent more than seven years as head bartender of the American Bar at The Savoy — helping take it to No.1 on The World's 50 Best Bars in 2017 — and who won the Diageo World Class competition in 2010. He opened the first Kwãnt in 2019 in the basement of Momo on Heddon Street, where within a year it was named Best New Opening at the World's 50 Best Bars 2020. CORRECTION TO OUR EARLIER LISTING: after Momo closed during the pandemic, Lorincz spent around eighteen months designing and relaunching Kwãnt at its current corner site at 52 Stratton Street, two minutes from Green Park, reopening in 2023 — it is no longer beneath Momo. The name is a play on "quaint", and the reborn bar drew CLASS magazine's first-ever 10/10 review. Its menu lists five dedicated non-alcoholic cocktails alongside the two dozen alcoholic ones, many built on herbs grown in-house and treated with the same craft as the full-strength drinks.

Lyaness is the South Bank flagship of Ryan Chetiyawardana, the bartender who trades as Mr Lyan and whom The Telegraph dubbed the world's most awarded bartender. It opened on 29 March 2019 inside Sea Containers London, taking over the Thames-side room that had housed his previous bar, Dandelyan — a venue he closed at its peak, months after it was crowned World's Best Bar at the 2018 World's 50 Best Bars. Lyaness earned the same standing of its own, named World's Best Cocktail Bar at the 2022 Spirited Awards, and remains a fixture on the global best-bars lists. The list is built around a handful of house "ingredients" reinvented each year. Five of its fifteen cocktails are offered in full alcohol-free versions made with the same technique as the originals, and the zero-proof Three Spirit Livener — grass amazake, gentian and pine — is a signature non-alcoholic serve.

The Connaught Bar in Mayfair, repeatedly ranked the world's best bar, gives its non-alcoholic drinking the same rigour as its celebrated martini trolley. The menu carries a dedicated 'Innocence' section, and the current Synergia list runs three from-scratch alcohol-free cocktails — one per chapter — built on a stocked range of non-alcoholic spirits and botanicals, such as The Chill Out with house chilli syrup and passion fruit.
Order: The Glossy — red-berry kombucha, milk oolong tea, Amalfi lemon-leaf syrup and pink grapefruit juice · The Smooth Mover — salted cacao coconut water, eucalyptus syrup and lime juice

The Donovan Bar is the World's-50-Best-listed cocktail room inside Rocco Forte's Brown's Hotel in Mayfair, run by maestro Salvatore Calabrese and Director of Mixology Federico Pavan. Its signature achievement for non-drinkers is structural: the menu is built so that every section pairs four alcoholic cocktails with one full alcohol-free serve, given equal billing and treated as a real drink rather than a placeholder. The zero-proof builds are engineered to match the character and flavour of their spirited counterparts, drawing on bases like Seedlip.

Three Sheets opened on Dalston's Kingsland Road in 2016, the work of brothers Max and Noel Venning, who came down from Manchester to build a bar around a stripped-back, ingredient-first philosophy. It first traded as Between the Sheets before the pair judged the name too suggestive. The room is tiny and deliberately spare — marble-topped tables, exposed brick and candlelight — with none of the theatre or clutter of a big-format cocktail bar; the focus is squarely on what is in the glass, and that discipline has earned it a place on The World's 50 Best Bars list. The menu is split into three "sheets" by alcohol strength, and the alcohol-free run rebuilds the classics properly: a booze-free whisky sour, negroni and espresso martini built on Belgian Opius NA elixirs, with three chillies infused in vegetable glycerin to restore the heat and viscosity alcohol would otherwise give.
Order: Alcohol-free Negroni (Opius elixir with chilli-infused vegetable glycerin) · Alcohol-free Americano (Opius, chilli-infused glycerin) · Alcohol-free Whisky Sour (Opius elixirs)

Homeboy opened in 2018 on Islington's Essex Road as the debut bar from Dublin-born Aaron Wall, who had already run award-winning bars in Paris, Dublin and London. Its Modern Irish Hospitality concept — presented under Wall's tongue-in-cheek MIH Records banner, with the drinks list laid out as a vinyl set list of Disc 01 The Intro, Disc 02 The Crescendo and Disc 03 The Finish — pairs Irish comfort food and a hip-hop and R'n'B soundtrack with a genuinely serious cocktail programme. The room is snug and low-lit, all dark wood, deep leather banquettes and a black-and-white chequered bar, with live Irish music on Thursdays and Sundays and DJs at weekends. It is a World's 50 Best Discovery bar and a fixture on the Top 50 Cocktail Bars list, with a second room in Battersea. Its menu is organised into three pillars — Irish whiskey, Contemporary and Classics — and carries two dedicated non-alcoholic cocktails made with the same technique-led approach as the rest of the list.

Punch Room is the celebrated cocktail parlour hidden behind the lobby of The London EDITION, a landmark Ian Schrager hotel on Berners Street in Fitzrovia, and one of the city's cosiest cocktail dens. Its 2025 'Recipe Book' menu — published as a genuine take-home recipe book — sets three no-booze punches alongside fifteen spirited ones, and the bar has highlighted its alcohol-free serves as strong sellers. All three zero-proof drinks are built on Everleaf, the British non-alcoholic aperitif, and are made sustainably from the same ingredients as the spirited cocktails earlier in the menu.
Order: Back to My Roots (non-alcoholic) — Everleaf Forest, cardamom syrup, caramel syrup, lemon juice and carrot syrup, finished with caramel air and grated cinnamon · Southern Light (non-alcoholic) — Everleaf Marine, red shiso tea, grapefruit-and-kumquat sherbet and lime juice, topped with Crodino and a shiso leaf · Impostor (non-alcoholic) — Everleaf Mountain, ginger syrup, demerara syrup and lime juice, topped with Franklin & Sons rhubarb and hibiscus tonic

Scarfes Bar is the World's 50 Best-ranked cocktail bar inside Rosewood London, a drawing-room-style room in Holborn hung with Gerald Scarfe caricatures and driven by live nightly jazz. Under Director of Bars Andy Loudon, its printed seasonal menus now fold serious zero-proof builds into the main list rather than hiding them on a footnote. The 2025 'Long Drawn Out Sip' menu spotlighted two alcohol-free originals among its 24 creations, led by the No-Cracker 0% (Amarico, Martini Vibrante and acorn soda) and the Lost & Found 0% (juniper hydrosol, Martini Vibrante, raspberry and iris cordial).
Order: No-Cracker 0% — an alcohol-free counterpart to the house Nutcracker, built with Amarico, Martini Vibrante and acorn soda · Lost & Found 0% — juniper hydrosol and Martini Vibrante with raspberry and iris cordial

Swift opened on Old Compton Street in November 2016, taking over the site of the long-running Soho drinking den Lab. It is the work of Bobby Hiddleston and Mia Johansson — a bartending couple who met while working at the celebrated, now-shuttered Milk & Honey — in partnership with Edmund Weil and Rosie Stimpson, the team behind Nightjar and Oriole. The name is a promise: an upstairs bar built for a quick, well-made drink before dinner or the theatre, with no booking required, and a dark cocktail den below for settling in. It has since grown into a small group with further bars in Shoreditch and Borough, and is a near-permanent fixture on the World's 50 Best Bars list. The walk-in upstairs room carries a dedicated non-alcoholic list alongside its aperitivo menu, and the sibling Swift Borough pours a named low/no serve, the Atopia, with spiced citrus, Botivo, strawberry and pink peppercorn.

Little Mercies is a small, multi-award-winning neighbourhood cocktail bar on Broadway Parade in Crouch End, open since 2018. It was founded by Alan Sherwood with brothers Max and Noel Venning — the team behind the acclaimed Three Sheets in Dalston and Soho — and carries the same low-waste, precision-led ethos, having been named Sustainable Bar of the Year by the UK's Top 50 Cocktail Bars three times, in 2022, 2023 and 2025. The space is compact and unshowy, with bare brick walls, accents of midnight blue, banquettes and a handful of bar stools, and it fills with a bustling neighbourhood crowd; a kitchen turns out playful seasonal small plates, so it works equally as a date-night spot and a drop-in local. It carries a genuine dedicated low- and no-alcohol cocktail selection alongside its main list, built with the same house-made ingredients Three Sheets is known for.
Order: Non-Alcoholic Negroni (Campari sugar, bitters, house alcohol-free gin, orange) · Non-Alcoholic Gin & Tonic (built on the house-made alcohol-free "gin") · House-made alcohol-free "gin" (juniper and coriander seed oils, lemon, lemongrass, concentrated bitters)

Dishoom's King's Cross branch is the largest and most theatrical of the group, opened in 2014 inside a former Victorian railway transit shed — a godown, in Bombay parlance — on Stable Street behind Granary Square. Dishoom was founded by cousins Shamil and Kavi Thakrar, who opened their first site in Covent Garden in 2010 as a tribute to the old Irani cafés of Bombay, the all-day institutions built by Zoroastrian Persian immigrants; the main hall here recalls a 1920s Irani café, crowned by an art deco clock modelled on the one at Bombay's Victoria Terminus. It is regularly called the best mocktail bar in London, and the non-alcoholic list is a proper menu section rather than an afterthought: a Teetotal Espresso Martini, a Sober Negroni and a rotating range of 0% beers, served all day alongside the Bombay food.
Order: Sober Summer Negroni · Marine Drive Spritz · Crystal All-Clear Mojito

The Shoreditch branch of London's Bombay-cafe group, and the most useful one for anyone not drinking: the drinks menu carries a named Teetotal Tipples section, eight alcohol-free builds priced and written like the rest of the cocktail list. A Sober Summer Negroni runs green apple and apricot through no-alcohol gin and bitter syrup, the Teetotal Espresso Martini works espresso against black cardamom and ginger, and the Crystal All-Clear Mojito clarifies the house cordial with a zero-proof aperitivo. Around them sit house chai, Bombay sodas and the full all-day kitchen, from bacon naan rolls at breakfast to black daal at midnight, in a room that takes bookings and holds space for walk-ins.

Dishoom's first standalone London Permit Room, an all-day cafe-bar on Portobello Road that treats not drinking as a first-class order rather than an afterthought. The name comes from Bombay's prohibition-era drinking permits, and the menu keeps the joke going with a dedicated teetotal section: a Sober Summer Negroni built on no-alcohol gin and bitter syrups, house chai, Bombay sodas and rotating alcohol-free specials alongside the full cocktail list. It opens for breakfast and runs past midnight at weekends, holds tables for walk-ins, and serves the group's Bombay comfort cooking throughout, so an alcohol-free evening here works as a real night out rather than a compromise.
Order: Sober Summer Negroni · House Chai · Bombay Sodas
Hours: Mon-Thu 8am-11pm; Fri 8am-12am; Sat 9am-12am; Sun 9am-11pm
How this page decides what counts
Three facts, all verified, all required. The venue has to rate at least 4 of 5 for its non-alcoholic program — a fully alcohol-free room, or a licensed venue with a strong named zero-proof list, the same floor our London sober bars page uses. It has to be somewhere you can sit, so bottle shops are out. And its hours have to run past midnight on at least one night, which is what makes this a nightlife page rather than a second copy of the sober bars list: at that cut a restaurant with a good zero-proof menu drops out, and the bars, lounges, kava bars and late coffeehouses remain.
“No alcohol served” is written on a card only when the venue's own verified description says so — never inferred from a rating or a name. Everything else here is a bar with a real non-alcoholic program, and it is labelled as a bar. Hours are the venue's live listing, re-synced weekly; the drinks on each venue page were read off its current menu and carry the date we last confirmed them.
Questions people ask
Yes. We have verified 16 London venues that both keep a strong zero-proof list and stay open past midnight on at least one night: Nightjar, Seed Library, Artesian, Kwant, Lyaness, Connaught Bar and more. The latest close we found is 3am.
None of the 16 listed here is a fully alcohol-free room; all are licensed venues with a strong, named zero-proof list. If "no bar tab anywhere in the building" is the requirement, check the city page for alcohol-free cafes and bottle shops that close earlier.
Every venue here closes after midnight on at least one night; the card for each shows the latest closing time and how many nights a week it applies. The list is ordered latest-first. Hours come from each venue's live business listing and are re-synced weekly — but late hours are the first thing a bar trims, so check the day before a special trip.
Order from the zero-proof list by name — every venue here has one, and each venue's own page lists the drinks we read off its current menu with ingredients and prices. A named drink built on a real non-alcoholic spirit (Seedlip, Lyre's, Ritual, Pathfinder and the like) is a different thing from a soda with fruit in it, and it is priced and served like a cocktail. If the list has changed since we checked, ask what the bar is making that week rather than for "a mocktail".
It is an honest one. The venues marked "no alcohol served" are rooms where nobody at the next table is drinking either, and for many people that is the only kind of night out that works. The licensed venues are bars — good ones for a non-drinker, but bars — and the page says so plainly rather than blurring the two. Choose by the label, not the name.
