10 Berners Street, London W1T 3NP
The Punch Room sits at the rear of The London EDITION, the landmark Ian Schrager and Marriott hotel at 10 Berners Street in Fitzrovia. Guests reach it through the hotel's vaulted marble lobby, past a neon sculpture and a wood-panelled door, into an intimate room clad head-to-toe in fumed-oak panelling with teal velvet banquettes, mismatched brown and green leather armchairs and a soundtrack of throwback jazz, reggae and motown. Modelled on the members' rooms of nineteenth-century London private clubs, the concept is devoted to punch, the classic sharing serve, and the bar is listed on The World's 50 Best Bars' Discovery guide as one of the cosiest cocktail dens in the city.
The bar is run by Bars Manager Anthony Callegari, with Gates Otsuji as EDITION's Director of Bars steering the wider Punch Room concept now spread across cities including Tokyo, Barcelona and Madrid. Its signature Milk Punch blends Hennessy fine de cognac, Havana Club 3yo rum, Somerset cider, brandy, green tea, lemon juice, pineapple, spice syrup and milk. In April 2025 the venue turned its menu into a physical take-home recipe book, sold for around £30, which lays out each drink's exact measurements, method, ice, garnish and glassware — fifteen alcoholic punches and three with no booze.
The alcohol-free program is genuine rather than an afterthought: all three no-booze punches are built on Everleaf, the British non-alcoholic aperitif (probably the biggest independent NA brand a guest could source at home), and were designed to be as sustainable as possible, drawing their ingredients from the spirited cocktails printed earlier in the book. Back to My Roots pairs Everleaf Forest with cardamom and caramel syrups, lemon juice and house carrot syrup, finished with caramel air and grated cinnamon; Southern Light mixes Everleaf Marine with red shiso tea, a grapefruit-and-kumquat sherbet and lime, topped with Crodino; and Impostor stirs Everleaf Mountain with ginger and demerara syrups and lime, lengthened with Franklin & Sons rhubarb and hibiscus tonic. Each is priced at £14, the same care and glassware as the alcoholic list, and the team has pointed to the alcohol-free serves as some of the room's strongest sellers.
