Bar 473 is a neighbourhood bar on Admiral Boulevard in Kendall-Whittier, east of downtown Tulsa, and it keeps genuinely late hours — 3pm to midnight from Tuesday to Thursday and on Sunday, and 3pm to 2am on Friday and Saturday.

The alcohol-free drink is the Horchata Colada, and the idea behind it is better than most. A piña colada without rum is normally a thin, over-sweet disappointment, because the rum is carrying more structural weight than people realise. Rebuilding it on a horchata base — the rice-and-cinnamon drink — replaces that weight with body from the grain and warmth from the cinnamon, while pineapple and coconut keep the colada character and lime cuts the richness.

That is worth flagging as a general point for readers who find most mocktails unsatisfying: the drinks that work best without alcohol are usually the ones that replace what alcohol was doing rather than simply omitting it.
