BrewDog DogTap Columbus

DogTap Columbus is the Scottish brewer BrewDog's flagship American brewery, built on Gender Road in Canal Winchester on the south-eastern edge of Franklin County. It is a production brewery first and a taproom second — tours run from the site, the kitchen is full-service, and the patios are dog-friendly — but it earns its place in a non-alcoholic guide for a straightforward reason: BrewDog is one of the few breweries in the Columbus area that brews alcohol-free beer itself rather than stocking somebody else's. The taproom pours the company's sub-0.5% ABV range on site, including the Juice Club line, which is made with real fruit juice and comes in Citrus Crush, Raspberry Tart, Lime and Pineapple Breeze.

The honest caveat is that BrewDog's presence in Columbus proper has collapsed. The company was sold to the cannabis and beverage group Tilray, and in March 2026 it abruptly shuttered both of its in-city taprooms — the Short North bar and the Franklinton location — announcing the closures on social media without giving reasons, as part of a wider round that cost hundreds of jobs across its estate. 614NOW reported at the time that the Canal Winchester brewery and the New Albany taproom remained open alongside the bar inside John Glenn Columbus International Airport. That leaves DogTap as the surviving destination site, and it is a thirty-minute drive from downtown rather than a walk from the Short North, which is a real consideration for anyone planning around it. As a destination the site is set up for a half-day rather than a drink: brewery tours run from the taproom, the kitchen is full-service, and the patios are dog-friendly. The Juice Club range is the clearest expression of what an in-house alcohol-free programme can do — brewed with real fruit juice to under 0.5% ABV across four flavours — and sits alongside the rest of BrewDog's low-and-no range on tap and in can, which is a materially deeper alcohol-free selection than a bar stocking one guest NA beer can offer.
