Craft cocktail bars and lounges in Columbus that take their non-alcoholic program seriously. Columbus is a city whose alcohol-free depth sits inside its bars rather than beside them. The city tried a dedicated sober bar — The Dry Mill, downtown, opened by two friends in recovery in 2022 — and it closed after seven months, and nothing has replaced it. What grew instead is a run of printed zero-proof sections on serious drinks lists, and they are concentrated on about a hundred metres of North High Street: The Guild House prints a six-deep ZERO PROOF list with Seedlip, Lyre's and a bottle of alcohol-removed sparkling, Soul at The Joseph builds four zero-proof drinks alongside its Lost Cocktails of Columbus programme, and Marcella's is directly across the road. Lincoln Social's ninth-floor rooftop gives its Spiritless section the same weight as its low-ABV band. The other centre of gravity is the Brewery District, where Law Bird — a 2025 James Beard semifinalist voted the city's best NA drink menu by Columbus Underground readers — puts named N/A cocktails on every menu it prints and will build most of the full-proof list without alcohol at a lower price, and Cobra a few doors up uses its no-proof drinks to carry the same Asian-American flavours as the rest of the bar. Casa Cacao in Old North is the city's first and only kava and cacao bar — and kava is a sedating psychoactive botanical rather than a soft drink, which is worth knowing before ordering a shot — while Better Beverage, the metro's only all-NA bottle shop, trades through pop-ups and delivery out of Westerville rather than a storefront. Cobra is an Asian-American bar on South High Street in the Brewery District, opened in October 2023 by four owners — Alex Chen and Jack Bennett, who helped open Watershed Kitchen + Bar, and David Yee and Josh Spiers, both previously of Oddfellows. It bills itself as a "good night bar," pairing a cocktail programme built on Asian ingredients with handmade noodles served late. Lincoln Social Rooftop is a Cameron Mitchell bar on the ninth floor of 711 North High Street in the Short North, with a retractable roof, a fire pit and skyline views. It is a 21-and-over room. The cocktail menu is organised into four bands — Bold & Boozy, Easy Drinking, Sessions: Low ABV and Classics — and one of them, headed Spiritless, is entirely non-alcoholic. Huli Huli Tiki Lounge is the original of Dustin Sun's two Columbus-area tiki bars, occupying a former antique shop in downtown Powell, north of the city. Tiki is a format that translates unusually well to zero-proof drinking — the classics are built on fruit, syrup, spice and dilution as much as on rum — and Huli Huli leans into that rather than treating it as a compromise. The second Huli Huli Tiki Lounge opened on 20 May 2026 in the long-vacant Jury Room space at 22 East Mound Street, downtown — a room with a bar lineage running back to the nineteenth century, now fitted out as a tiki lounge by owner Dustin Sun. The drinks programme follows the Powell original, which means the alcohol-free side is unusually deep for a new opening: house cocktails including the Honolulu Mule, the Blue Hawaiian and the Baby Aspirin are all served in alcohol-free versions built to order rather than swapped for a soft drink. Because tiki drinks are constructed from fruit, spice, syrup and dilution, the zero-proof versions read as complete rather than hollowed out. DENMARK on High is a second-floor cocktail lounge in the restored Yankee Trader building — now Yankee on High — at the southern gateway to the Short North, overlooking the Columbus Convention Center. It opened in 2014 in what had been a furniture showroom, and is built around a no-television, no-distraction room and a from-scratch bar programme: house bitters, house infusions, house syrups and shrubs. The current menu carries a small non-alcoholic section rather than a token line, with two built drinks — Not A Dream, a tropical construction of non-alcoholic gin, fruit purée, coconut cream and lime, pineapple and orange juice, and the Cucumber No-Jito of lime juice, mint syrup and cucumber soda. Goodale Station is the twelfth-floor rooftop bar and restaurant of the Canopy by Hilton Columbus Downtown Short North, on Nationwide Boulevard between downtown and the Short North. Accent Wine Parlor is a wine shop and tasting room in the historic Citizens Building on North High Street downtown, opened in August 2021 by sommelier Gregory Stokes with chef Joshua Dalton of Veritas. It works as both retail and a room to sit and drink in, running daily tastings, weekly classes and local delivery across the Columbus metro alongside bottles from $10 to collector prices.
