Close Company is the second concept from the hospitality group behind Death & Co, and Atlanta got one of the first. It opened on 6 November 2025 in Suite 320 on the plaza level of Tower 2 at 505 North Angier Avenue, beside the parking garage entrance of a black office building in the Old Fourth Ward — a location DiningOut described as looking like it has absolutely nothing going on inside. The company's own framing is that Close Company is "the unbuttoned, unpretentious younger sister of Death & Co: a little louder, a little looser, and unapologetically fun". In practice that means a bi-level room built around the bar, a spinning disco ball, DJs at the weekend, a 1970s palette, and food that runs to French onion pastry pockets and lemon pepper pockets rather than anything precious.

The pricing is the point of the concept, and it applies to the non-alcoholic drinks as much as the full-proof ones. The group has been explicit that efficiencies in service and technology let Close Company sell cocktails at a fraction of Death & Co's prices, with drinks starting around $9, and the zero-proof section sits inside the same list rather than being pushed to the back. Four alcohol-free drinks are named on the menu: the Dangerous Rickey, built on non-alcoholic gin with a celery cordial and a garden herb tonic; the Chennai Cobbler, which uses a non-alcoholic vermouth with mango and yogurt for weight; the Parakeet, an agave-leaning drink with a non-alcoholic aperitif and green apple; and a St. Agrestis Phony Negroni served straight. The construction logic is the same as the alcoholic list — cordials, acid balance, dilution measured rather than guessed — which is what separates a real zero-proof programme from a token juice list. The bar trades to midnight midweek and 2am on Friday and Saturday, and is closed on Sunday.
