Commune is a wine bar and hi-fi listening room in Avondale Estates, opened May 8, 2024 by Zopi Kristjanson and music producer/DJ Chris Devoe inside the Olive + Pine development. The wine list is curated by James Beard-nominated sommelier Steven Grubbs, formerly of Empire State South, who keeps an esoteric but approachably priced by-the-glass and bottle program. The space pairs that list with seasonal small plates and a nightly schedule of DJ sets and live performances spanning jazz, funk, Afrobeat, psych rock and post-punk. Alongside wine, cocktails, beer and tea, Commune maintains a standing zero-proof category for non-drinkers, with options including a Phony Negroni, a non-alcoholic sparkling chardonnay, and a rotating herbal zero-proof cocktail. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reviewed it favorably in August 2024, praising its creative, frequently changing food menu, well-trained staff and fair pricing.
